The new Welsh Housing Quality Standard is officially live today.
From now on, landlords in Wales must follow the new, enforceable timelines for investigating and fixing damp, mould and other hazards. These changes strengthen accountability across the sector and align with the wider expectations set out by Awaab’s Law.
Your responsibilities from today:
▪️ 24 hours to investigate and 24 hours to remedy imminent risk of harm
▪️ 10 working days to investigate, 5 to remedy significant risk
▪️ Written summary plan to tenants within 5 working days if works can’t be completed
