Hidden down a winding lane near Penzance, Enny’s feels like the sort of Cornish secret one hesitates to share too widely. A collection of 4 adults-only cottages set within 20 acres of gardens & rewilded pasture, it offers something increasingly rare in modern luxury travel: genuine calm & solitude.
Well Cottage, the smallest & perhaps most charming, strikes the balance between rustic heritage & chic contemporary comfort. Cruising to West Cornwall in the Jaguar seemed effortless. To be greeted by a welcome basket groaning with local provisions, freshly baked scones, clotted cream & jam instantly sets the tone. Grind coffee & local Cornish-grown tea add to the excellence. Hospitality here feels deeply personal & heartfelt.
Hosts Karen & Nick have over the 6 years of ownership created somewhere with real soul. History of Art graduate Karen’s impeccable eye for interiors is evident throughout: antique furniture, tactile textiles, carefully sourced ceramics & soft linens that make the cottage feel less like a rental & more like a stylish private retreat. The open-plan living space is wonderfully cocooning, with heated slate floors, an Everhot stove & deep sofas designed for slow mornings & long lazy evenings. Multiple wild flower arrangements & the private rear terrace & lawn make this the perfect couple’s nest.
Outside, Enny’s becomes even more impressive. The beautifully landscaped outdoor pool brings a distinctly Riviera-like atmosphere on sunny days, while the new barrel sauna is a masterstroke, especially after bracing coastal walks around nearby Marazion & Godrevy Beach. Together pool + sauna elevates the estate to a genuine wellness hideaway.
Location is another triumph: perfectly placed for exploring West Cornwall’s beaches, galleries & harbours, yet blissfully silent, removed from the summer frenzy. I haven’t slept so well in years - the estate lies on the strongest lay-line in England, directly on the St Michael’s Mount to Glastonbury route.
Sophisticated, restorative & deeply thoughtful, I’m sure Enny’s must be one of the most unique places to stay in Cornwall right now. And all the better when Nick’s vineyard starts producing in 3 years time!

|As soon as I walked into our cottage at @ennyscornwall on a grey, damp Cornish evening and found the wood burner lit awaiting our arrival, alongside a basket groaning with the kind of haul you’d usually only find at an incredibly wholesome farmers’ market, I knew I was going to love it here.
A collection of four adults-only and impossibly chic cottages in west Cornwall, owners Karen and Nick are quite literally living my dream life. Their impeccable taste and devotion to creating the warmest, most welcoming guest experience is stamped all over the grounds. From the beautifully finished outdoor pool and sauna, to the ‘Twenty Acres’ of wild pasture they’ve cultivated for guests to enjoy, to the freshly baked scones, complete with cream and jam, left in the cottages before arrival, everything feels thoughtful and considered.
The cottages themselves are beautifully appointed and impossibly chic inside. Karen has such an eye for curating vintage and antique pieces that I spent an embarrassing amount of time wistfully stroking the art, textiles and furniture she’d sourced, wishing I had the same eye, and patience, for finding such treasures myself. In fact, I left having purchased two of her collaboration pieces with @eotceramics as a very last minute birthday present for my boyfriend (hoping he isn’t reading this caption)
Our cottage, The Granary, had a spacious open-plan living and dining room and is one of only two cottages with a wood-burning stove. Upstairs, a generous bathroom overlooked the stunning gardens, but the pièce de résistance was the pale pink floral bedroom of dreams. A headboard I am now absolutely determined to recreate at home, paired with the deepest bed and softest linens imaginable, meant we both slept like absolute logs.

A rarely glimpsed view across the pool courtesy of the winter storms this year. Storm Goretti followed by subsequent severe weather decimated this part of the garden, uprooting a hedge, trees and numerous shrubs together with the heavy double gates. But as with most disasters, there is a beautiful silver lining. Primroses have flourished over the newly bared bank and the crab apple is loving the light, showing its gratitude for the suns rays with a glorious display set against its lichen laden branches
There is much to re-plant but also so much scope and at long last we are able to revive the former water garden.
