Leicester, such a special evening at @phoenixleic for our WE ARE HERE screening of queer cult classic THE WATERMELON WOMAN, curated by @leoniebelle_ . The space was full of energy, with DJ @m4yow44 setting the tone, a polaroid keepsakes station captured by @mira.smedia , and beautiful prints from @jessrtelle . We also screened a Black queer short romance GAZE, followed by a Q&A with writer and emerging filmmaker @sh4znaymartin , sparking thoughtful conversation around Black queer storytelling. Thank you to everyone who attended. What a beautiful evening in celebration of International Women’s Day and the 30th Anniversary screening of SET IT OFF, curated by @leoniebelle_ as part of our nationwide WE ARE HERE programme. It was beautiful to see the vibrancy in the room full of people who were seeing the film for the first time as well as those revisiting it on the big screen. Thank you to everyone who attended, to DJ @m4yow44 for the set, @lushleicester for the LUSH products, @shirleyblossoms_ for the beautiful bouquets and for @phoenixleic for their wonderful hospitality and the yummy food at our pre-screening brunch.
