We’re pleased to once again be hosting events for Newbury Spring Festival on the 12th and 13th of May 2026.
Sir Lloyd Grossman will be visiting Englefield House on the 12th to talk about his book ‘The Artist and the Eternal City: Bernini, Pope Alexander VII, and the Making of Rome’, which charts the path of Gian Lorenzo Bernini through the streets of Rome.
On the 13th, Michael Foyle and Maksim Štšurawill will perform three of the most popular violin sonatas in the repertoire in Englefield House’s Long Gallery.

Did you spot Englefield House in the most recent Compare the Market advert? 🔍
Filmed in 2025, the advert features the much-loved meerkats and provides a glimpse inside the House.
While the backdrop is recognisably the library and other rooms, the film makers ‘dressed’ the sets during filming and post-production work to match the opulent style of the long running TV adverts.
Producer, Patrick said “Englefield House stood out because it is such a beautiful property and within striking distance of London, which always helps.”
