Lakehouse Venetian Vibes Blending Limewash, metallics, French soap, multiple lime plasters, stencils—all brought together to bring some of Flathead lake into this Bigfork Master Suite. Beautiful redesign by @stronghold.design Tayrn is amazing to work with, highly recommend her. Excellent taste and communication. We worked together to make a series of samples to find something that fit the design vision she and the customer had for the space. What tools/products should you use for Venetian plaster application? Everyone has their favorite tools and products. These are mine as a professional Venetian plaster artist. This is all I do—my crew and I apply Venetian plaster all day, every day across Montana. I use Marmorino Tools for trowel application and Exotic Luxury Line for authentic Italian Venetian plaster. My most common style is a Limewashed matte Marmorino finish—which we apply tens of thousands of square feet of. I provide a wide variety of styles: microcement, Liquid Metal, polished glossy plaster, sandstone textures, and other decorative stone effects. I use lime plasters to make the vision of the client a reality. The smell, feel, workability, and ease of application make this my top pick. I’ll still use other plasters when needed for certain customer requests or very specific looks—but for the majority of Venetian plaster applications, this is what I’m using. A luxury finish starts with the boring but necessary prep work. This soft white Venetian was designed to create an idyllic retreat at the end of the day. We used Simply White to keep warmth and subtle undertones in the walls so the color stayed soft instead of pulling cold. Velvet to the touch and sealed with French Soap—the walls look, smell, and feel incredible. Sneak peak at the process. I apply and burnish multiple coats of like plaster over a @usgcorp all purpose tinted skim. Then bring out the @festool RO 150 with 1k and 4k grit to polish. I dry burnish again and wipe with microfiber. Then I sponge BrillWax from @exoticluxuryline and polish with my @makitatools vertical buffer and lambs wool. Normally I would wet burnish, however even after cutting the material it was so dry coming off Flathead lake that the only option was to mechanically sand and dry burnish.
