I set up a Youtube channel to share my short films & ended up adding a lot of other bits & pieces. Here's a short documentary about cross country running featuring some fine accents from around Ballinasloe. /watch?v=KoixlUzXmEA
Sneak preview of the opening track from
‘A Rasher Each: Longmiles & Laneways’, the second compilation of covers & interpretations of songs by Pavement, Silver Jews/David Berman, and Gary Young, as reinterpreted by artists from Ireland’s underground and DIY scenes.
The first volume, ‘Classic Hiss: Boreens & Backroads’, was released on September 5th, 2025 & featured MayKay, Junk Drawer, Oh Boland, Cormorant Tree Oh and many more.
Following on from Volume 1, this new collection brings together 16 more acts spanning electronic to lo-fi folk, experimental music, jazz, post-punk, noise, and guitar-led indie rock. Taken together, the two volumes form a wide-ranging snapshot of contemporary Irish independent music, brought together to celebrate musical influences while collectively standing in solidarity with the people of Palestine and donating whatever we raise to aid those suffering on the ground in Gaza.
Volume 2 features:
The Bonk
Skinner
Soft On Crime
Americhord / thatboytim/Tropics of Scorpio
Clara Tracey
Diarmuid MacDiarmada
Mount Pelier

Why this record exists
The people of Gaza are fast approaching nearly 900 days of war and destruction meted out upon them in a brutal and indiscriminate manner. We stand in abject horror at the deliberate and wanton death and destruction that continues, even now, almost 2 and a half years since it began.
Money raised from ‘A Rasher Each: Longmiles & Laneways’ will go towards helping those people suffering on the ground through aid groups working in Gaza, as well as support for activism. Proof of donations will be posted publicly.
Music doesn’t change the world on its own, but solidarity matters. This compilation is our way of standing with the Palestinian people and of using the DIY community we love to channel support where it’s needed most.

Depressing to see that every single tree along the local riverbank walk has been cut down. For what purpose or with whose permission, I don't know, but doing away with anything wild & replacing it with a manicured version, if at all, seems to be all too common... So embrace the wild spots you can find...
Strange is the Coastline - The new album by United Bible Studies is released digitally on 5th September and cd (shipping from 8th October) through Talking Elephant Records. Vinyl will be available through Hobby Horse later in the year.
