What’s the difference between Endless Ultra, mk2, and Classic frames?
Three are three tiers of performance and price in the Endless product lineup. Are you wondering which is right for you? Continue reading to find out how they compare. Let us know which one you would choose.
Classic Frames: these are the original designs for 165 and Trinity that we launched in 2020. They feature dual setups to give skaters an enhanced ride experience for a wide range of urban and recreational skating. The 3-wheel flat setup is excellent for trail skating and distance, and 4-wheel Balanced Rocker setup is dialed in for agile city skating. They offer the most value for the lowest cost with the classic Endless silhouette.
mk2 Frames: these are enhanced/updated versions of the original 165 Classic frames with dual 3-wheel and 4-wheel setups. They are more responsive and slightly faster than the Classic frames due to a more rigid structure, but the price point is higher due to the extra aluminum material and machining costs. Aesthetically you’ll notice some slightly different angles and more 3D geometry. We feel these frames sit in a sweet spot of ride comfort and predictable performance, and will be a welcome upgrade to any skate on the market.
Ultra Frames: these have the highest level of performance in the lineup because of their ultra-rigid design. We evolved the engineering of the mk2 frame to take it to the next level. This resulted in a more sophisticated and stiffer structural design that includes internal bridging. Ultra frames are optimized for a single setup and use aluminum axles instead of steel. The price point is the highest due to more elaborate CNC machining operations. These are the fastest, most reactive frames we offer, and we confidently feel they outperform any urban/recreational frame on the market at any price. We believe skaters will discover this level of immediate power transfer and zero-lag control is unmatched.

Installing our aluminum Ultra Axles requires special attention. This video gives some guidance on the installation and removal of these axles. Start threading by hand and then using a good quality skate tool like the Sonic Tool shown here, be sure to torque no more than 1/8th turn. If you over-tighten these axles the high friction that develops between the two aluminum parts can result in difficulty removing them. When you do remove the axles it’s normal to hear a pop or screech sound. Always check the tightness of your axles every time you skate.
Also, never use Loctite on your skate axles.

Having trouble installing the axles in your inline skate frame? Improper axle installation can cause damage to threads, hex key feature rounding, or can lead to axles coming loose while skating. This short tutorial will turn you into an axle torquing pro.
Tips for successful axle installation:
1. Use a good skate tool like the ones from Sonic Sports @sonicsportsla
2. Align the bearings and spacer with the frame using the skate tool or a wooden pencil. This will allow the axle to go through all the parts easily and ensure easy initial thread engagement.
3. Insert the axle fully and start threading the axle with your finger to prevent cross-threading.
4. Use a light touch with the skate tool to tighten the axle until snug.
5. When the tool stops spinning freely torque the axle no more than an additional 1/8 turn.
6. Always check your axles are tightened before every skate session.
7. If you have a wheel spinning issue, never loosen your axles to solve it. This is typically a bearing seating or bearing+spacer stack-up issue.
