I had a great visit to Enclave Matcha & More (2258 W. 10th) in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood, a new place with the feeling of something fresh and interesting. There I met Christina Boris and Mike Boris. They met at Willoughby High School as friends first, playing music together, bass and drums, learning rhythm before they ever learned business. That mattered to the story, because you can feel that energy in the place they have built.
The name Enclave reaches back to a beloved former spot in downtown Willoughby, a place they both remembered as somewhere to linger over coffee, talk about art, exchange ideas, or simply be among good people. They carried that spirit forward, not as nostalgia, but as a blueprint.
Both bring years of experience from around town, including Christina’s six years managing at Blackbird Baking Company and work connected to Masthead Brewing Co. They spoke about drawing together all they had learned from hospitality, music, jazz, liquor, and now the world of matcha, where this shop has already become a destination. Their range of matcha offerings is unlike anything else in the area.
The space itself, in a building with roots in the 1860s, has lived many lives, including as a hair salon and convenience store. Now it has been transformed again. Some buildings wait for the right people to make them what they are again.
I had a fantastic coffee and a ridiculously good homemade biscuit. But what stayed with me most was the care. Nothing felt out of place. The room, the sound, and the setting had all been well thought out. I love that these Scranton Avenue residents imagined their dream, went all in, and made something that feels both personal and welcoming. Congratulations to the couple. I look forward to returning to Enclave Matcha & More.
