Dreams do come true.
It really took (some) blood, (lots of) sweat, and (happy) tears, to make this happen. After watching The Cave for the first time during lockdown, I remember being very inspired and telling my friends that I wanted to build a studio where me and homies could come and be creative, something that reflects my soul and reciprocates creative energy to everyone who’d enter the space wanting to create. And now sitting here having written the fifth song in my first two days here, having acquired so much knowledge in the process, I want someone to pinch me juust to make sure it’s all real LOL
A few times along the way I would ask myself why do I even get myself into this, especially when realizing that some things have gone sideways at the end of full day working in the dust. The frustration can be a crazy mf when it builds up
But man, that moment when I plugged in those monitors, on the desk I’ve built myself… it was all worth it. Great records can be written anywhere, and my best stuff was made at like cafes and trains, but having my own dedicated space does incredible things to focus and letting creativity out like nothing I’ve experienced before.
It’s still a work in progress, I have lots planned and in terms of putting a proper finish on the space, dialling in the acoustics and curating the interior arsthetics, but I’m happy I can get to work now while chipping away at these smaller things. The space is ever-developing, just like me haha
It’s really scary to be starting this having spent so much emotionally and financially, but deep within I know I’ll make it work.
Wish me luck and book a session please😏
