Story time. ✨ Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me why I love what I do, even with the highs and lows that come with the creative journey. I had a birthday shoot with Dougles — someone I photographed sometime around September last year when we created a portrait I still admire till today. This time, we decided to create something even more intentional for his birthday. We built a mood board from Pinterest, planned two outfits around one location, and set out to bring the vision to life. What made the experience even more beautiful was discovering that Dougles genuinely has an eye for photography, especially wildlife and nature photography. Somewhere between taking portraits and having conversations, the shoot stopped feeling like work and became a shared creative experience. The first outfit gave us something timeless and refined. The second outfit carried a more relaxed and spontaneous energy… and that was where something unexpected happened. While I was capturing moments on set, @i_design_photography — one of the prominent photographers in Abuja — happened to walk past our location with his team. Apparently, they were covering a luxury wedding nearby and decided to take a walk around the area. After the shoot, we spoke for a while. He looked through my work, commended it, followed me on Instagram, and even mentioned that I would take his birthday portraits someday. That moment stayed with me. It reminded me that sometimes the investments people never see — the extra effort, attention to detail, and the decision to pour your profit back into your craft — quietly create opportunities you never planned for. Yesterday gave me more than beautiful photographs. It gave me confirmation that consistency, intention, and genuine love for your craft never go unnoticed.
