🎭 Raising Limbo Higher 🇹🇹 Limbo is more than a show.. It is discipline, ancestral art and culture in motion. I talk to choreographer and dance educator Kieron Dwayne Sargeant about the Limbo Dance Training Programme, his work with Makeba Gabriel, and how he is helping train a new generation of dancers to carry T&T’s movement traditions into international spaces. 💬 “Interest alone is not enough to sustain an artform.” - @mr.ksargeant85 📰#ReadAllAboutIt in today’s @trinidadexpress 🗞 💃: @empressmakeba 📣: @micsstarrpublicist 🎤 🌟

Kieron Dwayne Sargeant Foundation Limbo Training Program in Collaboration with Makeba Gabriel- Student Ronaldo Lewis (Dancer and Performer) Ronaldo Lewis, known on stage as Naldo, is a Trinidadian dancer from Rampanalgas Village, now based in Sangre Grande, with 11 years of experience in dance. His journey began in high school, where constant bullying led him to dance as a way to find the respect, confidence, and power he longed for. Wanting people to see that he was more than just the “effeminate boy” they labeled him as, he entered the dance space searching for self-worth, but eventually found something greater — a genuine love for the art. Over time, his talent, passion, and creativity became the first thing that entered the room, along with his growing love for design. Versatile in styles such as modern contemporary, hip hop, African, Azonto, folk, and soca, Naldo has continued to grow as both a performer and creative. At the age of 15, he officially joined Nbelese Creativity of the Arts, where he still proudly represents the group as a dancer, tutor, and designer. Throughout his journey, he has participated in numerous online dance competitions, earning top placements and recognition. He has also worked alongside several Soca and Calypso artists. In addition I was assigned as a Dance member appearing in The Lost Tribe’s opening introduction scenes for the Carnival parade of the band and served as an understudy for the role of the “Fancy Sailor Soldier” in The Coconut Cracker – Fantasy in Dance presented by the Caribbean School of Dancing. For Naldo, dance is more than performance — it is healing, purpose, and self-expression. It carried him through dark moments and continues to shape the artist and person he is today. Beyond dance, he channels his creativity through designing, content creation, travel, and film. #afrocaribbeandance #trinidad #limbodance #makebagabriel #kdsfoundation
