Let me tell you about our new pedal. Introducing the Buffer++: The ultimate utility pedal. Pristine buffering, plentiful I/O, and advanced signal control. Route anything, adapt on the fly, and preserve every nuance of your carefully dialled-in sound. Need a sweeter deal? We made a small pricing error and marked the brand-new Buffer++ $100 cheaper than it was supposed to be. To avoid confusion to our customers, we’re going to be selling this first run at $299! Today we’re learning about the drive’s boost switch. Here I have the boost set to pre-drive mode, which means the guitar’s signal is going to hit the drive circuit hotter (in this case about 15db hotter) when the switch is engaged. This lets me go from a light, edge of breakup overdrive into a red hot distortion with the flick of a switch. And if you just want to make your drive signal louder without hitting it harder, you can also configure the boost to be applied post-drive for more tonal possibilities.

Did you know you change the colour of your VU meter??? And you thought the VU was useless.

For those worried about how a VU meter will hold up over time. No production units were harmed in the making of this video.

oOoOoOoo.. this release is real good. empress has created a do-it-all drive. complete with a noise gate, clean blend (bass players have entered the chat), powerful eq, a boost that can be pre or post dirt, and who doesn’t love a vu meter in a pedal? so stoked to have these killer pedals on our shelves. i foresee this chameleon becoming a staple for guitar and bass players alike. . . . 🎛️ : @empress_effects #eastsidemusicsupply #dropriffsnotbombs #empresseffects #toeachtheirtone

Alright class, today we’re learning about this boosted twang sound. First thing you’re gonna wanna do is dime the volume knob on your bridge pickup before even touching the pedal. Next, set a relatively low gain on your drive pedal, and if you want a little extra spank on it give me a boost on the high mids and treble knobs. The secret sauce to this one is engaging your boost switch to add just a touch of pre-drive gain for that extra bite. And once you’re dialled in, you’re ready to start pickin’ yer chickens, twang away superstar.
