🎓✨ Impressions from the “Non-Formal Education: From Theory to Praxis” Training Course in Vienna, including partners from Germany ✰ Croatia ✰ France ✰ Romania ✰ Greece ✰ Slovakia ✰ Serbia ✰
From 10 to 17 October 2025, 30 promising youth workers from across Europe gathered in Vienna for a transformative professional development experience 🌍💪
This mobility empowered participants to explore the power of non-formal education (NFE) as a tool for meaningful youth work, community engagement, and social change. Through experiential learning, teamwork, and intercultural exchange, participants learned not only about NFE — but also through and for it. 💡
🌱 The project aimed to:
🔹 Strengthen the competences of youth workers in facilitation, group dynamics, and intercultural learning.
🔹 Provide practical tools for designing and delivering impactful educational activities.
🔹 Promote quality youth work based on inclusion, reflection, and active citizenship.
🔹 Apply theories such as Kolb’s learning cycle, Maslow’s hierarchy, and Bloom’s taxonomy in real youth contexts.
🔹 Foster a European network of motivated, skilled, and collaborative youth professionals.
💬 Highlights of the week included:
✨ Interactive workshops on facilitation, ethics, and the art of briefing and debriefing.
✨ Country presentations and a tool fair showcasing innovative non-formal education methods.
✨ Practice sessions where participants designed and tested their own youth activities.
✨ Deep reflections, intercultural evenings, and strong professional connections across borders.
🌍 The training reinforced the value of learning by doing, through dialogue, and with empathy — proving that non-formal education remains at the heart of inclusive, human-centered youth work in Europe. 💚

From 7 to 14 August 2025, the “Don’t Let the Muggles Get You Down!” Erasmus+ Youth Exchange brought together passionate young people from eight countries for a magical week of learning, play, and transformation in Vienna! 🌍💫
Inspired by the inclusive and team-based sport of Quidditch (Quadball), the exchange explored how sports and experiential learning can break down gender stereotypes, foster wellbeing, and strengthen community bonds. ⚡💪
🌱 The project aimed to:
🔹 Promote gender equality and inclusion through mixed-gender team sports.
🔹 Foster emotional resilience and wellbeing through movement, nature, and teamwork.
🔹 Build communication, empathy, and leadership skills in diverse teams.
🔹 Use Quidditch as an innovative tool to address social challenges and empower youth.
🏆 Highlights included:
✨ Dynamic Quidditch practices and a friendly international tournament.
✨ Interactive workshops on gender equality, mental health, and teamwork.
✨ Reflective outdoor sessions and intercultural evenings celebrating diversity.
✨ A vibrant community spirit that grew stronger with every shared challenge and laugh.
💚 Participants returned home inspired to be multipliers of inclusion, wellbeing, and social change — proving that when young people unite in creativity and empathy, magic happens both on and off the pitch!

🌿✨ Impressions from the “Green Quest” Youth Workers Training Simulation Game Experience in Riga, Latvia 🇱🇻
From 17 to 20 July 2025, youth workers from Latvia and Austria gathered in Riga for an immersive four-day training — the “Green Quest” Simulation Game Experience! 🌍♻️
This hands-on training equipped participants with the tools and confidence to facilitate the Green Quest simulation, a dynamic, role-based learning game that explores sustainability through the eyes of multiple stakeholders. Participants engaged in interactive simulations, critical reflection, and teamwork to better understand environmental decision-making, systems thinking, and sustainable development. 💡🌱
🌱 The training aimed to:
🔹 Strengthen youth workers’ facilitation skills through gamified, experiential learning.
🔹 Foster critical and systems-oriented thinking on sustainability.
🔹 Equip participants to implement the Green Quest simulation locally with young people.
🔹 Build bridges between environmental education and participatory youth work.
🎲 Highlights included:
✨ Practising full simulation rounds and learning how to manage multi-stakeholder dialogues.
✨ Deep dives into facilitation, debriefing, and adaptation techniques.
✨ Peer reflections, creative teamwork, and action planning for local implementations.

Climate misinformation is spreading faster than ever—Checkmate is here to challenge it head-on. This dynamic project unites young people from across Europe to play, learn, and lead change through innovative, hands-on education.
🚀 What We're Doing:
🎯 Co-creating the “Climate Checkmate” Simulation Game – A multi-role experience designed to help youth identify and respond to misleading climate claims.
🧩 Hosting Media Literacy Labs – Equipping young minds with the critical thinking skills and digital savvy needed to navigate today's info chaos.
🌍 Activating Game-Based Living Labs – Real-world, immersive spaces for collective decision-making and climate exploration.
📱 Rolling out a bold social media campaign – Busting myths, sharing truths, and making climate literacy viral.
This isn’t just another awareness campaign—Checkmate is about transforming digital engagement into climate-conscious action. It’s where critical thinking meets creativity for a greener, smarter future.

🇦🇹 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 🇹🇳 🇩🇿 🇱🇾 From 24 November to 01 December, 2024, the “Participatory and Emancipatory Approaches for Youth Work” Professional Development Activity brought together 33 dedicated youth workers from Austria, Germany, France, Tunisia, Algeria, and Libya for a transformative training week in Vienna 🌍✨
This training was a powerful journey of growth, critical reflection, and collective action. We are inspired by the passion and commitment of participants to multiply the learning and empower youth in their home countries! 💪🌱
🌱 The project aimed to:
🔹 Explore emancipatory and participatory methodologies in youth work to strengthen social justice and inclusion.
🔹 Build the capacity of youth workers to address conflict, polarization, and exclusion through transformative educational tools.
🔹 Introduce simulation and strategic board games as innovative methods for conflict transformation.
🔹 Empower participants to co-create community-based initiatives through a practical Hackathon format.
🔹 Promote intercultural dialogue, cooperation, and solidarity across Europe and the MENA region.
🎲 Key highlights included a deeply engaging simulation game on local community conflict, a strategic board game focused on international dialogue, and a full-day Hackathon for Social Transformation where participants designed real-life youth-led initiatives with lasting impact.
🧭 Alongside powerful learning moments, the training fostered strong cross-border networks and sparked lifelong connections among youth workers dedicated to social change.
🌍✨ This experience reminded us of the power of youth work to uplift voices, challenge structures, and create inclusive spaces for dialogue and action.

🌿 Highlights from our “Revitalizing Ecosystems Through Experientialisation” Training Course 🌄
🇦🇹 🇩🇪 🇬🇷 🇮🇹 🇵🇱 🇭🇷 🇨🇿 🇸🇰 🇭🇺 🇸🇮 From October 10–20, 2024, youth workers from 10 countries came together in Vienna to explore the transformative power of Experiential Outdoor Education (EOE) and reconnect with nature, themselves, and each other.
✨ This training was more than a learning experience — it was a journey into wellbeing, inclusion, and environmental awareness through the unique Experientialisation approach, blending theory, practice, and reflection.
🏕️ What made this training unforgettable?
🔹 Nature-based activities in Vienna’s surroundings and a surprise camping expedition 🌲🔥
🔹 Hands-on workshops on mental hygiene, inclusion, and environmental youth work
🔹 Study visits to community gardens, urban farms, and smart green spaces
🔹 Creative co-creation of outdoor educational activities and follow-up local action plans
🔹 Deep reflections through journaling, sharing circles, and solo time in nature 🌿
💚 Youth workers left with tools, methods, and the confidence to design impactful activities rooted in EOE that promote inclusion, reduce stress, and spark environmental activism.
🌍 The project empowered participants to use nature as a learning space, healing space, and activist space. We are already witnessing ripple effects in local communities through follow-up activities led by our participants!

🌍 Highlights from our Training in Vienna – Transformative Mindset for Sustainable Development 🌿✨
🇱🇻 🇦🇹 🇫🇷 🇭🇷 🇭🇺 🇨🇿 🇸🇰 🇷🇴 🇷🇸 🇬🇷 From November 9–16, 2024, Vienna became the stage for 33 youth workers from 10 countries to unite and explore how conflict transformation can drive sustainable development.
💡 This professional development activity empowered youth workers with transformative tools to tackle complex sustainability challenges in their local communities and beyond.
🔍 Over 6 intensive learning days, participants engaged in:
🔸Exploring the SDGs through the lens of peace, justice, and partnership
🔸 Conflict transformation strategies using the Thomas-Kilmann and Johan Galtung models
🔸 Practical sessions with simulations, forum theatre, world cafés, and real-life case analysis
🔸 Designing grassroots sustainability interventions with our SDGs Intelligence toolkit
🔸 Building an open online library for youth work practices in sustainability education
💬 The training didn’t just build competences – it inspired a movement! Each participant left with a plan to localise the impact: from facilitating community dialogues, to mentoring young changemakers, to launching green civic initiatives.
