I never tire of flying and am so grateful that i get to travel for work. It’s such a gift. Today i thought of an early memory, i think i was around 8 years old. Flying from Omaha to New York with my parents on a Pan Am flight. It had psychedelic colored carpet on the walls and passengers were sitting at little tables smoking cigarettes and drinking cocktails. I couldn’t believe that somehow this huge thing was hurtling through the sky. It seemed like magic. Still does.
Here’s to the inimitable, notorious Julie Queen. Decades after, at the scene of the crime. You are my dream, i am so lucky…happy valentines y’all!

Had Omakase at Yokox in the East Village tonight and somehow got to sit at the bar with Owen the head chef and partner of Yokox. We had a 15 course menu that he designed and each course was a perfectly balanced complement to the previous and next course.
He gave us a master class in experience design.
So recommend his place. It’s pure magic. @owen.chef owen.chef
Ruth Asawa show! Don’t miss it. She’s a bay area legend and made an enduring mark of wonder on our city. Here’s some cross-eyed stereo photos for a preview…..
