The band part of the It's okay Tour 2018 is over, thanks so much to my band mates @kampetina and @hybridsonicspace for bearing with me and making touring so much more fun. Now 2 days off in bed and then off to @theateroderland on Saturday to start off my solo tour.
My new single Evening News is out today! It's about the different stages of being stood up: paranoia, anger, empowerment. Probably the closest I'll ever get to Nu R&B. Hear for yourself (link in bio)! The video was shot in a run down hotel last year during my @musicboardberlin residency at @goethe.bahia in Brazil by @fghjknbggvni . She also did the facemask and make-up, which took hours and had people in the lobby asking why my face was melting. Enjoy!

We shot the music video during a @musicboardberlin artist residency in Brazil this last fall at @goethe.bahia . I have wanted to shoot an underwater video for quite a while and finally saw the chance to do it when I was there, but imagined it much easier. Nearby pools were all too small or unavailable, so we were forced to shoot it in the ocean and even found a little frequented jetty down by the bay. We soon saw why it was little frequented. Luckily the camerawoman @fghjknbggvni is an excellent swimmer so we only had to worry about me getting dashed against the rocks by the heavy sea.
I spent days figuring out how to make myself sink deep enough, cause the salt water kept me afloat. I ended up putting huge stones in the back pockets of my pants and getting rid of all the air in my lungs once underwater. Which finally made me sink to the ground but made it also difficult to stay there for more than 2 seconds. To get a good (calm) shot I usually had to stay longer. And then get back to the surface in time with the stones dragging me down.
I drank a lot during that shoot.
But dizzy and nauseous back in the dry I was pretty happy with the result and still am! Hope you enjoy it, too!
