This is one of the most important pictures I’ve ever taken. This is of my mother holding my hand not long before her passing. Yesterday was the 3rd anniversary of her leaving us. Her name was Connie. She was one of 9 siblings who was born in 1948 with Polio a year before the vaccine was available. Because of her condition her spin was bent and she walked with a limp. At a size of 4 foot 8 inches her strongest weapon would be her voice. Along with her faith this would be proven time and again throughout her life. All together she would go on to have 3 boys. She would be told by doctors each time how dangerous it was for her to just have one considering her condition. Each time she proved them wrong. She was an amazing woman and anyone that had the opportunity to meet her would feel loved by her cooking or the genuine personal time she gave them. At the age of 75 she would be diagnosed with Cancer and not long after she would be laid to rest with my brother Gabriel in 2023. Overall I am so very Thankful for her strength of character and how she instilled that into me. I love her so very much and I am EXTREMELY grateful for the life she has given me to share with others. Life overall is Finite and Fragile. Love can be immeasurable. I believe I captured all of that here. Because of its visual echo I’ve named this picture HEART.
