• When I was growin up, I found myself spending every Sunday afternoon with my pops detailing his whips. In the beginning, I was only trusted with the wheels until I earned my way onto the paint and interior. He wasn't just keeping me busy by teachin me how to clean a car, but how to care for one in a way that reflects how you care for yourself.
We went to the auto show at Cobo Center every year and I would always leave with a bag of brochures bigger than my head, studying the graphic design, the car specs, the photography. Any time we stopped by Kmart or the local dollar store, I grabbed the classifieds and circled my “next car,” long before my lil ass could drive.
Eventually, Detroit gave way to another motor city: Los Angeles. Those early adult years shaped me by working with talented af automotive photo crews and finding early friends who shared the same obsession, along with a masochistic love for the flaws and precious times that come with old cars. I am grateful for a life built around this passion, even when it tests me in New York.
It has taken hella seasons to arrive here, but today I get to share something that has been forming since my parents’ driveway: Mo’s Motors, a car service rooted in care, knowledge, and trust for car ownership by offering mobile detailing, full guidance on buying and selling any car, and photography for special projects. Work done properly with respect for the machine and the person behind it.

This isn’t easy to share but the residue from other ongoing challenges in my life leave little room to deal with a situation that threatens my health and safety. The violence of it shifts shape, from vivid to abstract, always being felt. But I do my best to keep it pushin’, reminding myself the only guarantee we have in this life is yesterday. For that, I have countless blessings to those who’ve helped water my garden before and countless more to those who are able to water it today.
