Figured I’d share this project I did back in 2024 called “Big Kid”. I rushed to make it all in a week to submit to a festival I didn’t end up getting into, but I did end up getting into @loscineminutos which was a pleasant surprise! Slide 2 and 3 show photos from the screening of it. Part of me wishes I gave it a bit more time, part of me knows if I didn’t have a deadline I wouldn’t have done it, so that’s life. This originally was meant to be the intro to a bigger series I’d like to make, so maybe finally uploading this will push me to get on with making the rest of it. Also shout out to @gryphonater for always letting me use his voice for my weird projects

A change of pace—instead of stop-motion, live-action!
Here is the teaser/blooper reel for the video I shot a while back “I Choose The Bear” (back when choosing the bear was relevant to say). Link is in my bio for the full video. It was a goofy idea I had since I wanted to practice shooting outdoors, and despite the summer camps happening all around us and planes flying above, we managed to get it done. Pryanka, Sean, and Daniel made this such a blast to shoot and were so patient with all the challenges we faced (including me taking forever to edit it), so I’d like to thank all of them for making this so fun.
So after much procrastination I finally finished my entry for the #pinocchiocontest @gdtreal is holding. I’m wishing I gave myself a bit more time to do more with it, but I enjoyed animating faster and more loosely again as I haven’t done that in a while.
If you haven’t already seen @pinocchiomovie you really need to, it’s one of the most beautiful and touching films of the year

Some behind the scenes of the recent Halloween video I did.
1st slide is the animation without the rig removal/2D animation.
2nd slide is a timelapse of me doing rig removal super late at night.
3rd slide is my super-rushed animation test I did in order to figure out where to drill holes for the feet and where I should place rigs/how easy the transition would be from the clay head to the skeleton head.
4th slide is me once again staying up late at night working on the model making portion, at that point I was sculpting the clay Bela Lugosi head that was going to melt off over the skeleton head.
5th slide is a timelapse of the head melting process (I sort of had to wing it as I went since I could only do it in one take and wasn’t able to rehearse it much. It was also, once again, very late and I was a bit sleepy so I kind of was making it up as I animated).
6th slide is a picture of the Bela head on the skeleton body before animating started, and the 7th slide is the Bela clay head next to the skeleton head that had a sort of makeshift Bela head on top of it for a smoother melty transition.
And finally the 8th slide is the reference photo I used of the magnificent Bela Lugosi.
This was all done in about a week, but really less than a week as I was doing Halloween stuff with family/working as well, so overall the process was pretty rushed. But still pretty content with how it turned out, all things considered.

A quick comic I made for a quick idea, hope those who did inktober had fun! And for those of you like me who have no concept of time but still want to make fun doodles, well, luckily we have November and December and January and so forth to do that
Also, if you do like inktober, try not to do the official prompts as the creator kinda plagiarized “pen and ink drawing workbook” by @alphonsodunn , so look for fun fanmade ones instead :)

Undead undead undead! Happy Halloween everyone! I hope everyone enjoys dressing up and being spooky today!
I had this idea last minute and totally rushed making this video, but I’ve been trying to have more fun with projects recently as I’ve struggled to make art just for the sake of making art, so it was nice to come up with an idea and actually make it happen within such a short time period (even if some of the animation is a bit wobbly). Special thanks to @bauhausthebandofficial for making a song so great that I can listen to the same 20 second bit of it over and over again as I animate to it. And now, I sleep.

Little thing I put together with the background from my last post and an animation I did in procreate. The styles don’t match up super well but it’s fun seeing something besides just a white background. Accidentally copied the Daria style again... must have been all the Beavis and Butthead I watched as a kid. Also ignore her knees/elbows because I sure did when I animated this.

Little animation I made in procreate to try and figure out an animation style. Gonna try to do more 2D stuff, it’s fun (and a lot easier on my feet than stop-motion). Maybe if I’m motivated I’ll animate her wiping her butt or something.
Also don’t smoke kids! It might be fun to animate but it’s bad for your health and all that. PSA over :)

Little exercise I did a little while ago. Just finished doing the rig removal and questionable sound design for it. Not super happy with the way he walks and got kind of tired/sloppy animating halfway through, but I’m glad I’m at least slightly more comfortable animating walks with tie-downs and using rigs now. The first slide is the final piece, the second is the one with the rigs and third is a timelapse of me animating him getting angry at the chair.
