Hello šš» Itās high time I did a new intro and hello as Iāve had some new followers (welcome!) š«¶š»
Iām Emma and Iām a brand photographer based in the Derbyshire Dales and regularly working in Sheffield, Nottingham, Leicester and across the Peak District and beyond with a previous life in lifestyle magazines bringing high quality, natural editorial photography to your business. I love to help artisans and creatives show how much care and love goes into their work and process, from the tiniest of details to the important message about their purpose.
With a bank of gorgeous images that tell your story, my clients find themselves with instant PR opportunities and customers that are invested in their work and craft. Clients who work with me come away with confidence and a renewed pride in their work and find the process with me clarifying.
I also create imagery for community organisations, charities and for license for editorial, travel and many other businesses/brands.
If youād like me to do that for you, letās book a call - comment āenquireā and Iāll send you a link š š«¶š»

I just wanted to say the hugest thank you to everyone who sponsored/donated and cheered me on for my 100 miles in April challenge for @alzheimerssoc - a cause close to many of our hearts š Iām pleased to say I completed the challenge clocking in at 102 miles and have raised Ā£500 for Alzheimerās Society who do such important work supporting families who have been devastated by this cruel condition.
Walking over 60 hours during the month helped my noggin no end and leaves no doubt for Ollie he landed in the right place. Only problem is heās got a little bit too used to the volume of walking so weāre dialling back a bit slowly bur surely š
Can you afford not to have a brand shoot?
Last week I had such an interesting chat with a client turned dear friend who said having a shoot opened up so much for her that she had never considered a possibility - the ease in which she could apply for markets, say yes to guest features, set up directories on art directories - that all got noticed because of her photography. The result? As instant yes on Country Living directory, a couple of magazine features, securing a spot on her dream market. Itās so exciting to see her thrive!
Want this for yourself? Through a no obligation chat weāll chat options and see if this is right for you - I ALWAYS meet you where youāre at. Link in bio to book a chat.

A personal one today as have had so many conversations with folk recently about adhd (we flow to each other!). I have just come to the end of titration for Medikinet XL and I wanted to talk about what Iāve found with it. Medication was a big step for me but I knew I needed help as realising I had ADHD was an unravelling - I lost confidence, starting rejecting public speaking events and stopped showing up in so many ways.
The benefits of this medication havenāt been loud or intensively obvious - instead when I look back at the past three months, I realise the way Iāve worked has changed so much. Itās little impacts everyday that have set the wheels in motion to lead me to a place where I just feel like Iām able to cope with life again. ADHD can leave you constantly overwhelmed, unclear and, not without want, lacking the executive function to approach something in a formulated way. Thatās where the gold has been for me - to approach projects with a clearer approach.
Conversations with clients where I am able to really deeply listen and really HEAR where it is they need help rather than where I think they need help has been such a joy in comparison to struggling to articulate in the past. I am able to be balanced, thoughtful and clear about what I recommend or am offering. Thatās not to say I couldnāt get there without medication but this has been a massive change for me.
I was worried my creativity might be impacted but if anything itās there more than ever because Iām not consumed with all the things that I failed to do because I forgot or didnāt keep a solid system around. I did have a period where I wondered if I should try another medication and I struggled with extreme tiredness after 4pm but that is starting to level out and Iām so glad I stuck with it for a bit. I donāt know if Iāll stay on it longterm but for now it is helping me enormously and would go so far as to say it has really changed my life and how I work/structure my business. Are you considering medication or have experience of it?
Iām delighted to share some of what me and @myderbyshirelife were working on last year. In a regular feature in @simplethingsmag - called The Good Life - readers drop in on Michelle and life in her beautiful Derbyshire home and garden.
Michelle writes about what sheās been upto in both her garden and her life in Derbyshire and shares gorgeous recipes that are both seasonal and focused on wellbeing.
Working a year in advance means we shot all of the features last year and are now seeing the first shoot from last spring in print now which is lovely āŗļø these photos are mainly outtakes and I highly recommend buying a copy of the mag to access Michelles gorgeous writing and recipes āØ
Here for the real moments that give an insight into your world, show your expertise and communicate what makes your work magic.
@mollychristodoulou posted something the other day that really made me think - there is so much pressure on artists and creatives to share their whole process but sometimes you just need to keep some of it to yourself.
Using photos in carousels (which out perform reels fourfold for me!) is a way to retain your narrative, to give slices into your work life without having to share every moment.
And donāt forget Instagram is only a small branch of your brand - the visuals you use for emails, print matter and on your website being together a feeling.
Iād really love to hear about where youāre at with sharing your art!
