Sharing a post from @dharmayogazagreb . Thank you @sandrapetra_yoga_art . It’s beautifully written. ❤️🕉️🙏
Today we live in a time where everything is instantly available to us. We open YouTube, type a few words into Google, and yoga appears in millions of forms, styles, and techniques. Information comes quickly, easily, and instantly. We can practice from the comfort of our homes, learn from people across the world, and find answers within seconds.
But yoga did not appear with one click. It did not simply fall from the sky, nor can it truly be understood through a screen alone. Behind everything we have today stand generations of teachers who, through their effort, discipline, devotion, and entire lives, paved the way for the yoga we now know.
We still remember how much effort it once took to find authentic knowledge, teachers, books, and genuine experience. The generations before us were the ones who truly paved the way for yoga through their devotion, discipline, and sacrifice.
That is why we are deeply grateful to have a teacher not only on paper, but in heart, practice, and wisdom — a teacher who reminds us that true yoga is not merely taught, but transmitted through experience, through living, and through the heart.
Happy 87th Birthday #dharmamittra 🙏

🕉️🙏 One of the main mantras we chant often. Beautiful mantra and I recommend you to memorise if you haven’t learned yet. 🥰💕🕉️🙏
The Guru Mantra is dedicated to the Guru and all teachers who have helped shape us into who we are today. We dedicate this mantra to our beloved Guru Sri Dharma Mittra.
Guru Brahma, Gurur Vishnu,
Gurur Devo Maheshwara
Guru Sakshat, Param Brahma
Tasmai Sri Guruvei Namah
Guru is Brahma (the creator), Guru is Vishnu (the preserver),
Guru is Maheshwara (Shiva) (the destroyer)
Guru is the embodiment of the Supreme Brahma
I bow to the Guru.

The morning begins with a complete Dharma Yoga practice to awaken strength and ease in the body.
We then gather for spiritual talks, Q&A and chanting creating a shared moment of reflection, connection and renewal. We will conclude with a simple yet powerful ceremony to acknowledge our growth, express gratitude, and welcome a fresh beginning as the Dharma Yoga London Sangha.

Dharma Yoga with Kirtan
Dharma yoga is a system of classical Hatha-Raja Yoga based on the teachings of Sri Dharma Mittra, a living master of yoga. It is a devotional practice that emphasises radiant health, a clear mind and a compassionate heart.
It is important to start the New Year with the right intention. This special 2-hour class for Mission consists of a graceful, yet challenging, Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa and a short Kirtan to close. Although the Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa is challenging, it is accessible to different levels of practitioners because it is designed to meet each individual’s needs. The physical part of Dharma Yoga practice will strengthen practitioners, not only physically but mentally, and help them to deepen their spiritual practice.
Kirtan (call-and-response chanting) is one of devotional practices common to the Bhakti Yoga, and Sri Dharma Mittra regularly teaches this beautiful method of yoga practice in NYC. Through chanting you practice Dharana (concentration) that is pleasant and demands little effort. It becomes meditation when the concentration is uninterrupted. Chanting gives pleasure to the mind, and at the same time, opens and purifies the heart. Chanting with devotion will cultivate reverence and love.
This class is open to all levels, except for complete beginners. Modifications and variations will be given to make the asana practice accessible to all, so as to enjoy our time together.
I’m sure many of you want to practice with my teacher Sri Dharma Mittra @dharmayoganyc 🥰
