The insane brightness of a typical gas station canopy, practically bright enough to “perform surgery under”, is a detail I often remember from @paul.bogard ‘s fantastic book “The End of Night”. His book was the first thing I thought of when I saw this gas station lit up in red: the OPPOSITE effect of a typical gas station. This color can actually preserve people’s night vision. But it wasn’t about people??? #turtlelighting #nightvision #darksky #annamariaisland #babyturtles #florida #circlek #gasstation

Five years ago, I was photographing bubbles at sunset, and it occurred to me to turn on the camera’s flash. When I saw the bubble glitter and sparkle, it was like a whole new life path opened up.

Part 11 of my series of different kinds of night bubbles: chrome. These bubbles look shiny and metallic, with highly reflective and colorful surfaces.
