@emilysteaparty is constantly on the move, after a global press tour and through her evolving creative journey. At the centre of it all is One Piece, Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga, an immersive and emotional world.
In her Schön! 50 cover in @commedesgarcons , @junyawatanabe + choke, she opens up about playing Nami and the surreal feeling of the show’s release: “It has the same feeling as at Christmas… there’s the lead-up, then it happens… and you’re like, ‘Oh’.”

"I grew up watching anime," @emilysteaparty tells us. Rudd stars as Nami, the fiercely independent, flame-haired navigator of the Straw Hat Crew, in the live-action Netflix adaptation of Eiichiro Oda's best-selling Japanese manga series. Now in its second season, the show is unsurprisingly a massive success for Netflix (16.8 million views in its first weekend, to be precise). "One Piece is massive. It's extremely legendary. I think anybody who knows and watches anime or reads manga knows about One Piece, and usually, the major deterrent is that it's an extremely long manga and anime series," Rudd says. With over 100 volumes published and 1155 episodes, Rudd was first intimidated about taking on the role of Nami, but once she finally pressed play on the series, her life changed forever.
We chat with the actress about bringing the role of Nami to life and what we can expect from season three. Read more in the full interview at the link in our bio.

Anime-inspired One Piece is officially back after becoming Netflix’s most-watched show globally in the second half of 2023. But while the series is packed with action, star Emily Rudd is more into puzzles and Pokémon off-screen 😍🧩
