One of my goals for 2022 is to truly relish in my growth and share my work. Is this perfect? Absolutely not! Does singing this bring me immense joy? YES! My storytelling has become more truthful and for that I am so happy. May we all do the things that bring us true joy in 2022!
Yesterday was my birthday. And it was also the day the best person I’ve ever known left this earth. Edith Jewell Bailey, my Gran. My namesake. A woman of wisdom, strength and above all else, love.
While my heart breaks because I just want to hug her again, I feel her within me. It’s left with stories of working on the farm, jumping into ponds that didn’t belong to her, singing with her siblings, working on WW2 planes, dancing with sailors, living fiercely and loving abundantly. One of the last things she told me was I can’t wait to do everything. Gran, I hope you’re singing, dancing, climbing trees and swimming like never before. I love you and I’m so proud to be your grand-daughter, Emily Jewell.

And that’s Grease folks! What a perfect group of beautiful humans. Sometimes you just fall in love with what you do all over again. This life is so silly and special sometimes.
I am gutted. Waylon Jennings the Dog was the most gentle, loving creature I have ever known. The worst part is I didn’t get to say goodbye. Thank you for teaching me to be a better human, Way. I love you.
