New design alert! 🚨
The beginning of the year is always a bit of a slower time for my crafty affair, especially after the chaos of Christmas markets! So this year I’ve taken the opportunity to take a step back - not from creating(!) but, a step back to look at what I was creating.
I’ve done a lot of designs that I’ve loved, but I never felt like I struck on something that was truly me. So I wanted to create something unique, something a little more personal - and hopefully something you’ll all be able to connect with too!
So here it is… my new Cymru Collection. Inspired by the beautiful Welsh landscape, the collection incorporates topographic lines of Bannau Brycheiniog (and more specifically, part of the Horsehsoe walk for the hikers here!), linking the designs to one of the things I love most about Wales - the mountains.
The first edition Cymru collection is limited to 9 pieces and will be available online very shortly… keep your eyes peeled on my stories! We’ll also be debuting the collection at @tafwyl together with @bywcommunity , so you can see it in person too, and we can’t wait to hear what you think.
If you’ve seen something you like, but it’s sold out or you want a different colour, I can make anything custom to order, just drop me a message. This will help reduce waste and keep everything I make intentional.

Hi all!
It’s been a while since I’ve done any sort of introduction, and since there are a few more of you here now, I thought this would be a good time💁🏽♀️
I’m Marta, born in Poland but now based in Cardiff, Wales. I founded emertea.studio in 2023. What began as another creative hobby (and yet another idea for handmade Christmas gifts for friends and family) quickly grew into something more than that.
I’m a lawyer by day, but outside of my 9–5 I’ve always been into art, architecture, and photography. Before becoming a lawyer, my dream was to be an architect. Although it didn’t happen for various reasons, the creativity and my love for arts and crafts never really went away.
I design and make each piece in my little home studio in Cardiff (also known as my office, workshop, and everything room) using eco-friendly resin, Jesmonite. In an ideal world, I’d love to have a pottery wheel and a kiln, but since the only way to fit them in would be to get rid of the bed (which is fairly non-negotiable), Jesmonite it was.
From the beginning, my aim has been to create unique, one-of-a-kind designs that can’t be replicated or found anywhere else. That’s why all my collections are made in small, one-off batches, with no two pieces ever being the same. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!
