I thought it would be fun to shoot some video of the installation of my Bee Nucs (short for Nucleus) this year. Some winters the bees survive through, others it’s too cold for too long, even though I put insulation around my hives, and they end up freezing. I had three hives in 2025 and two didn’t make it through the winter. So this video shows the installation of the bees into those two hives. This is my 10th year with bee hives and I’m still learning. Loads of fun for me in which I enjoy being more connected to nature and involved in the process of at least a small amount of my food. As I was editing this video, it feels a little like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood meets Bob Ross, LOL. Several times it appears I can’t chew gum, talk, and complete sentences while working bees!!! 😂. If you would’ve told me a few years ago I’d be helping design and promote a motorcycle trackday program for new riders... I probably would’ve laughed.

Another great year of honey production. Last year I got about 4 gallons of honey. This year I was at about 5.5 gallons! One of those hobbies that is so fulfilling. Quite a contrast in honey from the two hives; one is pretty light, while the other is significantly darker. Yet my elementary tastebuds can’t tell a difference. Trying out different bottles and loving the soft squeeze style! Three5 Honey for the win! 🐝🏁⭐️ Thanks @kp12graphix for the awesome labels again this year!
A great rip in the dirt of Central Oregon on New Years Eve yesterday with my buddy @sagewilkinson Getting closer to our goal of averaging 30mph for the whole trip at 27.1mph. All to relax today watching the big New Years Day football games!! Go Dawgs, whip the Longhorns into submission!!
