This Saturday, March 28, 2026, is the opening of Israel Delmonte's exhibition Caprichos at the CAG[e] Gallery, starting at 2 PM.
You are invited to celebrate Israel Delmonte, who has made the School of Visual Arts his home, having given nearly three decades as a devoted educator and artist. Through his art, he channels the whirling currents of his homeland Cuba and the tides of the Caribbean, conjuring surreal dreamscapes that blur reality's edges. He has nurtured self-discovery with patience and precision, allowing the exploration and alchemy of ideas and material to fuse into new languages, elevating students to new levels of becoming.
Through his work, his surrealist visions transport us to liminal spaces, where waves of thoughts wash ashore, and the boundaries between dreams and reality dissolve. In Delmonte's world, thoughts take shape, and the unseen becomes tangible - a confluence of memory, imagination, and the in-between.
