So ab this time last year I started making Kandi after an old friend introduced me to it, & now it’s smth that I’ve leaned into 4 support & peace of mind thru the year. I’ve always loved crafting & making things with my hands, esp for friends n loved ones, & Kandi culture is rooted in that love language of giving. It’s an outlet of self-expression made for sharing, so every piece I make is made w lots of thought, love, & care. At 1st I was just making Kandi 4 the luv of the game lol, it rly became a form of therapy for me this year. I love taking my time sifting thru new beads & charms, arranging them in pretty patterns, & the pride I feel when I make an esp pretty one (my favorites r always the ones w jelly-style beads, stars, shells, & wood accents - they just feel more magical :3). It’s been a way for me to channel my energy into smth creatively productive, & remove my focus from the harder things in life. It feels refreshing to sit down & let the process just reset my head. But the best part of making Kandi, is getting to give it away bc now all the care that I took in making this pretty little piece lies on ur wrist, & it looks so yummylicous on u :') It started to make me feel rly proud, & my friends started encouraging me to sell my pieces so after a lil while of being unsure, I decided to just go for it! Now I’ve been vending since I think Sept? Most often w @rainbowtutudj who is an absolute angel & has been inviting me to vend w all of their events since the 1st food benefit I asked to join :) I love u !!! Thank u for giving me my start 🫂💗 Here are events I’ll be vending soon, what’s left of my current inventory, & a look at my previous inventory for a feel of my style! I love you little people in my phone Some words - well a lot of words sorry 😭 - on my life right now, and a whole lot of gratitude for those who have shown up in effort to make it a little bit of a better one. This is the most transparent I’ve ever EVER been publicly, but I think sharing my story and experience is really important because maybe someone reading this is going through something similar and they also have a hard time registering it as abuse. But it is. And I promise, you are not alone, and you never will be. You’ll be surprised by how many people want to see you be well, and how many more will do a little something to make sure of it.
