Digging the test pits for the septic—one of the many things this hillside needs before a permit becomes real.
Slow and steady, we’re shaping this place with intention.
EMBR is coming to life from the ground up.
DAY 1
When I bought the land for EMBR, there was a single structure on it — a 1989 outhouse that somehow had a light, no power, no water, and a toilet leading to a mystery septic tank from before modern zoning existed.
No one seems to know why it was built. Maybe it was a hunting stop. Maybe a leftover from the mining days. Or maybe just someone’s idea of “close enough.”
Either way, today it came down.
It’s the first small step in preparing this hillside for what’s coming — a place built for stillness, design, and the nervous system. There’s a long list of projects ahead, but clearing this relic felt like the real beginning. A line in the sand.
From here on out, the land starts becoming the vision.
EMBR begins.
It starts here. Raw land. Untamed stillness.
At 10,000 ft in the Colorado Rockies, EMBR begins — a retreat for the nervous system, built from the ground up.
This is the first step in shaping a place where design, nature, and wellness meet.
Come along for the journey.
