ā¢Portraits Day at the Ranchā¢
Spent the afternoon and photographed my friend and her family a couple weeks ago. I learned horses vibe with the energy you emanate. So I quickly made friends with them and found myself in the center of their arena, completely comfortable, as this amazing mother and daughter duo did their āthingā with their amazing horses. It was a cool thing to capture, the trust between rider and horse in every shot.

When thereās no stand in, I get to jump in front of the camera and film myself. Not the ideal situation for someone more comfortable behind the lens. Using one light source, during a very warm So Cal evening, I explored outside my comfort zone. I was mostly testing the Face/Eye Priority AF and was very pleased with the results. This test footage was shot in S-Log3 and layered with wheel and curves adjustments for a more contrasty and moody feel (no LUT). The edit was inspired by the groove heard on this track. I used med-heavy film grain and added an aged film look for a more nostalgic vibe. This was a fun quick edit to break in the new gear.
