“In between” 📚 @em.bns This series is conceived as a weaving of intimate narratives, exploring the emotional landscape of students in their final year of studies, addressing themes of identity, personal histories, and aspirations. I conceive this photographic body of work as a tender and empathetic testimony of an in-between moment, during which the relationship to intimacy, to others, and to reality is redefined through this phase of transition. @yahya.achou : I lived my student years in an impossible quest for excellence. I was the first engineer in my entire family, and I carried that on my shoulders. The pressure I put on myself at school is something I try not to bring into my work. We’re taught to perform, not to breathe. My parents couldn’t help me; not for lack of will, but because they didn’t have the right codes.

Spring Cleaning: There’s Always More… Consumption becomes reflexive, and the result isn’t just physical excess, it’s pressure on our attention to the way we move through our environments. The volume outweighs the purpose, and what begins as desire flattens into habitual boredom. There’s just too much, but then always more. The question isn’t whether we have enough space, but why we keep filling it. For the first day of spring 2026, MERDE praises circular fashion with @studio_paillette — Photographer: Emma Binois / @em.bns Art Director: Garance Douyrou / @garancedrr Stylist: Léa Germano from Studio Paillette / @lea_germano @studio_paillette Make-up: Juliette Simonet / @juliette_makeupartist Hair: Camille Masson / @_canasson Lighting: Shiran Potié / @potiephoto Models: Emma Blanc & Emma Nicolle / @blanc.emmmma  & @emma_ndf BTS photographer: Pauline Villain Autunno / @paulinevillainj

Ever since I was a child, I remember wanting to record the sounds of the house, just in case one day I would have to leave and everything would be missed. I feel like I was nostalgic while living the very thing I would later miss. A few months before leaving, the apartment being sold, I felt the need to pay tribute to it in a creative way. I wanted to explore self portraits for quite a while now and that seems like the perfect moment to do it. These images are, for me, a celebration of my younger years and a farewell to the walls that watched me grow for 25 years. At first, these Polaroids were imagined as self-portraits, and my friend and photographer @gil_rglt was supposed to simply help me with the process. But naturally, the project evolved, and he ended up taking all the photographs 🎞️ I wanted to stage some moments of my everyday life: lying in my bed, reading on the couch or calling a friend, sunbathing in the garden, spending time in the shower... Now I wanna know what's your favourite photo? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6? Let me know!

I conceive this photographic body of work as a tender and empathetic testimony of an in-between moment, during which the relationship to intimacy, to others, and to reality is redefined through this phase of transition. @laurinehrl "I am 23. When Emma shared about her project, I had just graduated from my master’s degree in culture and was going to leave the flat where I lived these two years. Her intentions to adress the in between resonated deep down with how I felt leaving the first part of my life - supposed to prepare me for this specific step - and entering, or trying to, the work world. I realised that was going to be harder than expected. We took photos in my old flat and in the new one I just moved in, symbolising this phase of change and reconstruction of the self, inside and out." I will turn 26 next September, and beyond my deep desire to portray a generation, this project also feels like an opportunity to say goodbye to my student years by paying them tribute.
