my floor is dirty.
generally, we are a no shoes household. it’s helped our house stay clean, for the most part. the antique hardwood floors that came with our house seem to quickly gather dust and so we try. we try to keep it tidy.
last week, we had some friends over and our living room was filled with different conversations. i made decaf coffee. there was a charcuterie board on the coffee table in the middle of our living room. our baby was sound asleep. the sunset lamp was perfectly in place slightly filling the room with colored light that made you feel like you were in a glow. a friend who is currently enrolled in school was finishing homework on our dinner table. we laughed often. life was happening before me and yet, our house went from being neatly organized to now showing proof of..life. proof of life sometimes interrupts my control.
and i need that often.
my baby crying in the middle of the night is a sharp wake up to being very tired but more importantly, a bright reminder that someone is alive in my home.
people help me because i need to remember that a rich life means a life sometimes interrupted.
God interrupts us and i hope He continues.
His coming was an interruption. His return will be an interruption. i pray that right now, He continues to interrupt me.
Mess my world up, God.
I can always clean a dirty floor. I just don’t want to miss the footsteps that blessed my home.

I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since the drop of aroma:devotion! I am truly blown away by the encouraging responses and all the support. Thank you so much.

My dear friend @meredithmauldin has always said, “New songs create new seasons.” I can feel that today as these songs are finally out.
God’s timing is perfect. He doesn’t need to chase momentum or ride on trends. His faithfulness speaks for itself, and His consistency is the best “marketing” there ever will be. When God says it’s time, He means it.
I hope as you listen to these songs, you are reminded that God sees you, loves you, and knows you. He does such a beautiful job with our dreams if we let Him.

I can’t wait for you to hear these special songs. I came into this project wanting to discover what I sound like. After 6 years, it felt daunting and vulnerable to start making music again.
