I want to extend my gratitude to several people that made Elsewhere a reality 💜 To our incredibly hard-working managers for holding the fort down and remaining positive during this transition. Josh and Tracy have been key leaders in our business since they started, and I am personally so grateful for their unwavering positivity and incredible support until the very end. To our investors, all of whom remained silent stakeholders during our five-year project. Many of them are friends and family, while others are simply supporters of beer who believed in our vision. They supported our dream back in 2017 and stood by Sam and me through some very tough years. We are fortunate to say that each of them has been incredibly kind, patient, and genuinely wanted the best for us, making this ending a bit easier to bear as they witnessed our struggles over the years. To our friends and family who continued to come out and support as much as physically possible, never expecting a free pint, and always uplifting us in and outside of Elsewhere. Last but not least, I want to thank Sam, my husband and business partner. You’ve sacrificed so much over the last seven years, including when I asked if we could put our lives in storage to travel the world and develop our brewery brand. Having served in the Army for the previous ten years, he was exhausted from traveling, yet he still took me up on it. He supported my vision of creating a beautiful space that appealed to all types of folks, and trusted me with any outlandish event I insisted we host. He took on the most stressful role in the company and continued to push through the mental challenges over the last five years with many sleepless nights. As business partners, we sacrificed aspects of our relationship, and I feel so lucky to come out of this still holding love and respect for each other. I believe our experience with Elsewhere has only made us stronger as we move into parenthood. Elsewhere will return in another form someday. In the meantime be sure to keep following us and follow along @elsewhereadventureclub (more plans for this!) If you ever want to get in touch, please reach out at [email protected]

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” - I’ve always felt this Dr. Seuss quote is so corny, but it perfectly captures the essence of our journey.  Throughout this week, we’ve focused on sharing our favorite stories and memories, all centered around the people - not just the beer, food, plants, or events, but the individuals who have worked, hosted, and attended. The collective presence of these people has truly made the past four years the most significant part of our lives in this chapter. As a natural introvert, I’ve come to realize that owning a bar is more suited for extroverted individuals, which is why you may have not seen me around as often. However, spending time in the last month helping out and connecting with guests has been incredibly fulfilling. The stories and connections y’all have stopped and shared with me have truly filled my cup. While we may not be closing Elsewhere on a financial high or with a clear transition in place, I believe this chapter has been successful based on the joy and memories that so many people have experienced here over the last four years. Today is The Greenhouse’s last day open from 12-11pm. Tomorrow the Greenhouse window will be open from 12-4pm with the inside closed for a special family event. Grant park is open today from 12-10pm with Drag Brunch kicking off today from 12-2pm (inside will be closed, with special appearances on the patio!), and we’ll have Clawdad Bluegrass Band closing us down tonight from 6-9pm on the patio. Tomorrow will be our last day open at Grant Park, from 12-7pm. We have a very special performance by Ethel Happening from 4-6pm. Sam and I will be floating around both taprooms this weekend, and witnessing all of you enjoy yourselves is the perfect way for us to celebrate the completion of this chapter.  Thank you for making it a memorable chapter that we’ll continue to reflect on for the rest of our lives.

We’ve had the pleasure of working with some wonderful individuals over the years. Many of our team members have been part of different “chapters” in their lives, navigating transitions between school, career changes, and personal growth. While we don’t have any team members who have been with us since 2020 (minus Yosh, we love you Josh), we cherish the good people who have contributed to our team, even if their time with us was brief. Whether they were with us for six months or longer, we value and appreciate the meaningful connections we’ve made. Let’s take a moment to look back at some familiar faces from the past and acknowledge the current team members who are doing a fantastic job leading us forward - we are truly grateful for their contributions

We hope you’ll continue taking Elsewhere, with you elsewhere. We’ve enjoyed watching us travel with friends, neighbors, and family inside and outside of Atlanta over the last few years. I love spotting Elsewhere merch out in the wild - it’s a powerful reminder that our community lives beyond our four walls. If you’d like to take more of us with you in the future, we still have a decent amount of shirts left! We also are selling our glassware starting TODAY, and if you couldn’t catch your favorite canned beers in time, we are selling growlers (prefilled, and ready to fill) for $15 - which includes a fresh growler glass. For cans we still have a few beers left at the Greenhouse, and lots of Bevvy Seltzers, Lady Brett Grand Cru, and Imperial Stout Barrel Aged beers.

It’s our last week serving you, and today marks our 4 year anniversary since opening Grant Park to our community. Looking back on 2020 feels like just yesterday and also a decade ago! We were desperate to open, with our credit cards maxed out and no cash left in the bank. The City of Atlanta was still closed, not issuing liquor licenses, and it seemed like we might have to close our doors before even opening them. We reached out to our new community for help, and a few of you stepped up, connecting us with resources to get our doors open during a pandemic! That was a significant milestone for us. This week, we’re reflecting on the dedication our little team has shown over the past four years in offering something special to our community. Grant Park holds a special place in our hearts, reminiscent of the communities we loved in Washington State—full of beautiful bungalows, lush greenery, and vibrant farmer’s markets. We were determined to establish our brewery in this community, and when we stumbled upon the dark, jail-like space at the Beacon (painted in jail suit orange on the exterior with a dark and white cinderblock interior), we saw an opportunity to transform it into a community hub. We close this chapter having fulfilled a long-held dream of owning a beautiful brewery, bar, and restaurant in a charming community. I used to say, “you’ve got to join the Army to forge meaningful relationships,” but now I can confidently say, “open a brewery, and you’ll meet a plethora of people, allowing you to curate lasting friendships with those you cherish most.” The most rewarding aspect of this journey has been cultivating deep and lasting relationships that will endure long after Elsewhere. We hope to see all your faces this week <3 Swipe to see a little walk down memory lane.

They started by playing in the street, needing more space for COVID social distancing in 2020, and then played literally in every nook and cranny at Elsewhere. I love this video of their performance, right around when the mask mandate was lifted. They brought light and love to our community during the dark times of COVID. Since they started playing at Elsewhere, they have been invited to perform at our guests’ engagement parties, weddings, and many other life milestone celebrations. In addition to sharing their talent and love with our community, they are the most giving couple we know - always the first to reach out, lend a hand, and refuse to accept “no” when offering a favor. They have embraced our ethos, of believing you dine out not for the product, but for the memories made. With that mindset, they’ve made Elsewhere a better place to be, and it wouldn’t be the same without them over the last 4 years. It only makes sense that they perform on our very last evening open. Next Sunday October 27 | 4-6pm ETHEL @ethelshotter Yes, we’ll all be crying. But I hope everyone will be laughing and dancing too - because we sure have some good times to reflect upon from the last four years.

✨🪕 We’re closing this chapter, the way we started it! Join us for one last hoedown with Clawdad closing out the final Saturday Night on our patio. The first video was captured at our opening day 4 years ago 🥹 A rendition of this Atlanta powerfolk trio played our opening day back in 2020. Old members have left and new members have joined, but we couldn’t think of a more beautiful way to bring our final weekend to a close. Come jam with us one final time on Saturday, October 26 from 6-9pm. We appreciate all of the love and support over the past couple of weeks. We’d love nothing more for you to come out and have a final beer with us 🫶🍻 Yeehaw!

Just two more weeks together 🥺💗 If you haven’t had a chance to visit our Greenhouse taproom location, now is your time. Despite common misconceptions, we opened the Greenhouse to support Grant Park and keep it alive. Grant Park faced challenges in 2022 due to changes at the beacon, and to keep it going, we needed to get more people enjoying pints. Thankfully, a group of generous investors stepped in to build The Greenhouse at Westside Paper. Without this taproom, we would have had to close Grant Park much sooner. Taking a chance, we decided to create the bar of our dreams: a simple, beautifully crafted wooden bar bathed in natural light, surrounded by lush plants, featuring a charming stage and amazing sound system. In the world of business, success isn’t just about the quality of the space, product, or team. It also depends on timing, economic conditions, neighbors, development, and location - and when opening a location in a new development, there are no guarantees. Sam and I are incredibly proud of how beautiful The Greenhouse project turned out. We owe a huge thanks to our architects @local_architects who nailed our vision (they also designed Grant Park) and to @brosdotfamily for designing Pt 2 of the Elsewhere brand suite that was truly adorable and welcoming to beer drinkers, and to @eclecticplantgoods who made the space come alive with incredible plants. Also, a huge thanks to our amazing team, Kate, Nick, Carter, and Tracy, who have been with us through the ups and downs since the Greenhouse doors opened a year ago. Join us for our last taproom day on Saturday, October 26 from 12-10pm. We’ll be spinning vinyl all day surrounded by plants. Feel free to request an album! If you want to enjoy some final beers, our taproom window will still be open on Sunday, October 27 from 12-2pm. The inside will be closed for a special baby shower <3. In the meantime make sure to get over there and soak up your last two weeks of pints at the Greenhouse. 📸 @gabriellalepage
