@christiansmithofc is one of the world’s leading exponents of techno, both as a DJ and producer he is always bold and innovative. With his output in recent years it is hard to imagine a list of prolific producers without his name towards the top. He has been at the top of his game for over two decades with his trademark groovy techno.
In 1995 he started his label @tronic_official which has been the top selling techno label in the world according to Beatport and is soon to celebrate its 500th release.
Tronic also has a weekly show which is now syndicated to over 100 stations worldwide, their 500th show was celebrated with special guest Carl Cox and now in 2022, they are already fast approaching the 600th episode.
Christian has dominated the charts and DJ’s playlists with a steady flow of releases on many high profile labels like @drumcoderecords , @filthonacid , Trick, Symbolism, Bedrock, and Tronic. His last EP on Tronic reached #1 spot on Beatport in both Techno and Electro in January of 2024. During the pandemic, Christian had a weekly Tronic Thursday stream which has reached over 10M people. On the remix front, Christian has recently reworked a track by UK hip hop superstar “Stormzy”. His music is regularly featured on Spotify’s biggest playlists and Christian is currently enjoying a big boost in his career.

This Saturday we host the launch party of the new joint record from elsewhere’s two music directors Latour + Jimmy D, who’ve teamed up to release “Spotlight” on the iconic Central Station Records.

About the record:
Latour and Jimmy D are two music directors on the Gold Coast at elsewhere who’ve come together to write Spotlight. (their second collab)
Jimmy’s history dates back to being a vinyl DJ on the Sydney circuit in the 90’s, we wanted to bring back the flavour of that era with new updated NRG, that holds weight on today’s systems and events.
The record being a standout memorable tune of the night with its stellar vocal which sees the majority of the record stripped away leaving a sassy ear catching moment in the rave. Then slowly creeping back up to an all our NRG finale. Think donk basslines, 90s rave synths & fast grooving raw drums.
