@liam_y ’s Planetary Imaginaries remains on view at SCI-Arc through March 8
PACT Member @liam_y debuts his first UK solo exhibition, In Other Worlds, at the @barbicancentre from May 21 – September 6, 2026.
Presented as the Barbican’s headline 2026 Immersive exhibition, the show brings together major works including Planet City (2021), The Great Endeavour (2023), and After the End (2024), alongside a new commission, World Machine (2026), imagining a planetary-scale AI system powered by renewable infrastructures. Together, these works form an ambitious cinematic exploration of futures shaped by climate realities and emerging technologies.
Star Quest from Maya Man is the perfect now. A mindset and medium of mental, physical and prompt driven reality twisted models. Ranking, reflective and quantified.
Even if emissions stopped tomorrow, we would still face centuries of accumulated carbon in the atmosphere.
In this clip, PACT Member Liam Young reflects on The Great Endeavor (2023), a speculative vision of a planetary-scale carbon removal system.
Continuing that conversation, join us February 26 at 11am at @sciarc for Planetary Connection & Collaboration, a discussion with Liam and fellow PACT founder + members @elmsly@jaz.ia@kalladomcdowell on building new models of creative practice at scale. RSVP via link in bio.

PACT Member @liam_y opens Planetary Imaginaries this Friday at @sciarc
The exhibition reflects on how our relationship to the future has long been shaped through imagined worlds, fictions we return to in order to face the unbearable questions of our own making.
At a moment when the very idea of a future feels unstable, Planetary Imaginaries gathers stories that span the microscopic to the planetary, offering visions of wondrous resistance.
Opening Friday, January 30 at 6pm. Find more info at the link in our bio.
