Picture this. Early 2010s, in a basement carpark in Singapore, a group of friends from different local bands get together in the boot of somebodyās car to play a tune they all know and love. Someone whipped out an iPhone 6/7 (?? the video quality + early insta sepia filter says all) to film it. Tomorrow arrives, life goes back to normal, we all go to work at our jobs. The video lives on, albeit tucked away at the back of a bookshelf in the digital cloud, never to be seen again by anyone else. Until today.
Why am I posting this? Well, I saw the Strokesā set at Coachella recently, and I remembered how much my friends and I loved them back in the day. The little band we formed did our best to emulate them. For our first (or second?? I canāt rmb) gig, we played āLast Niteā to a bunch of old guys in a blues pub in Clarke Quay. They hated it. We didnāt. We thought we were the coolest 20-somethings in the world. Then we kept playing..
Anyway, long story short, if u listened to
@thestrokes , u wouldāve definitely got into #littlejoy.
@_rodrigo_amarante thanks for sharing such a beautiful song to the world. I have taken it with me all through this crazy life, an anchor to an endless revolving door of comings and goings. I imagine itās not going to change any time soon. I love music so damn much, and this is one of the reasons why.
Thought vomit over, thanks for reading, have a nice day, bye, love u
