Last summer I made a last minute decision to drive up to the Canadian Rockies for the first time. I had originally planned for just a week in Banff at the end of August, but ended up staying for nearly two months. Some of my favorite hikes and backpacking trips to date, in some of the most stunning terrain I've ever experienced
Ethereal frames from one of the most fun and wild shooting days in recent memory. Wind gusts ripping across the dunes in the 50mph range make for a otherworldly vibe unlike anything else
A collection of some of my favorite captures of friends in epic places over the past ten years.
More stories packed into this series than I could even begin to write a caption for. From freezing nights in Norway under northern lights, rain soaked treks in Alaska, or climbing craggy peaks in the Cascades, having friends to share the experience with makes it all that much more special.
A decade of photography
In February of 2016, after a week long vacation thru California and a single night stop over in Yosemite Valley, I purchased my first digital camera - a $300 Panasonic LUMIX and a few basic kit lenses.
At the time, I had been an avid rock climber for just shy of two years. Climbing had brought me back into the outdoors after my father passed in 2013, and who I'd spend each year with on camping trips in the PNW.
My trip to Yosemite was really just a pilgrimage to see some of the most striking climbing walls in the world, but I had no idea how much it would transform my life. Driving in and seeing the valley from tunnel view for the first time, and camping below El Cap in Camp 4, I was instantly hooked.
After returning home and picking up my first camera, I started branching out to photograph local waterfalls and lakes on the weekends. Pushing my trips further and further from home each time, and racking up over 60,000 miles on the road in 2016 alone.
I went on my first backpacking trip just a few months after that, and from there, everything kind of fell into place. The photos above are just a drop in an ocean of almost half a million photos since then.
Things are far from perfect, but I wouldn't change any of it. Forever grateful for the community here on ig that's been so supportive along the way, the places and people I've been able to meet, and the experience I've been fortunate enough to have.
Thank you
Ethereal scenes from this past year along the West Coast. A little mixture of Washington State, Oregon, and California. From Big Sur to the North Cascades, there's beauty at every stop.
2025 has been one of the densest years of photography/video in the almost 10 years since I first started photography. Packed with new experiences, and some of my favorite work to date. Working to catch up, and excited to get back in groove of sharing on here
