Eco-System
My first band, my first attempts to find a sound. I still remember how it all came together. Meeting Elliot, Josh and Zwe at Litchfield Jazz Camp, starting out with just tunes, Ideas of what we could be. Then watching them come to life over my years at Hartt. Integrity n’ Music became our laboratory. Every few months we would get together, first with Elliot, Josh, Dakota, Conway and Josh Leslie. Trying new tunes, experimenting on what it meant to pick and learning how to let the music flow.
Fast forward and we had had a rotating cast of musicians playing in Hartford, Boston and beyond. Searching for that sound.
Over the past few years, the trio came to the forefront (and we do have some cool shows coming up!), but I knew it was time to bring back the sextet or as I’ve come to call it, the Eco-System. Because that’s what we are, an ecosystem of people coming together for a common reason. But existing in our own worlds at the same time. These are certainly some very troubling times, but the joy of bringing this band and the music back has been infectious within the band.
This is our first ever little tour of four dates within a short span. I hope you will come see what I’m talking about here. This is the next wave, this is Hartford, this is Eco-System.
We’re wrapping up the Exit Zero Jazz Festival, this Sunday, November 9th with an Imani Records Jazz Jam with Orrin Evans, hosted by Elliot Bild! 4:30-6:30 at Carney’s Other Room!
