Thomas steps into her RSC debut as Pearl in Martina Laird’s first play, *Driftwood*. Set in 1950s colonial Trinidad on the brink of independence, a Port of Spain gentlemen’s club called ALMA becomes the battleground for power, desire and survival. Owned by Englishman Mansion, it’s run by the formidable Pearl and eyed by seductive Ruby - until Diamond arrives with a risky deal involving a corrupt US Marine that threatens to destroy them all.
Directed by Chichester Festival Theatre’s Justin Audibert, this gripping #Caribbean tale explores self-determination, family ties and belonging.
