Next week we are hosting a full evening @de_bosbar Antwerp to present a first glimpse of our newest album daughter of data, to be released by @rotkatrecords later this spring 🌱 we are inviting @ellenjacobsx and @laura_jongh for a live set and will have a conversation about mixing science / music and feminism, moderated by the lovely @claiis from @viltmgmt . In haar muziek zet Ellen Jacobs de klankervaring centraal. Zo zoekt ze bijvoorbeeld het onderscheid op tussen wat we als akoestische of elektronische geluiden herkennen, of tussen omgevingsgeluid en ‘muzikale’ klanken. Een ander belangrijk gegeven is de “interne beweging” van geluid: een klank kan bij oppervlakkige beluistering relatief eenvoudig en/of statisch lijken, maar vertoont toch steeds subtiele onregelmatigheden wanneer je er auditief op ‘inzoomt’. Zo geeft de klank een vaak verrassend levendige, rijke innerlijke wereld prijs. She explores the boundary between electronic and acoustic music, using both to shape her sonic world. She is currently delving into the often-overlooked sounds that surround us—those that are barely perceivable or entirely inaudible at first encounter.
