After a rest day yesterday while I was on the ferry to Framce I’m back at it this morning with a 5km run in beautiful Angers. Angers is a fantastic second home for me as it’s very similar to Lovely Limerick, the river Maine runs through it past a series of arched bridges and an imposing fortified castle. I missed the first part of my run on Strayva but trust me I ran the full 3miles/5km. Missing my running buddy Emma Fisher-Owen today to keep me on pace but did attempt a run at the Angers Cathedral steps, the only thing that kept me going after was the thoughts of French pastries! @emcfish11 and I have been busting our butts running along the canal and riverbank for the last 6 weeks getting back into running after some years on the sofa! Now that we are fitter we have decided to run 100km in May and raise some funds for cancer research! We will post updates as we do it, and hope you will follow along and perhaps if you can support Cancer Research by following the link below! This was this mornings very wet but very lovely run and the clock starts officially tomorrow on May 1st! Finally finished and got to display this gorgeous thing today as part of the @limerick_lace symposium, this installation commissioned by the Friends of Limerick Lace, is the work of over 100 lace makers working in all of the Irish Lace Traditions and incorporates almost 300 individual lace flowers curated and constructed by me into this three panel layered landscape. I loved working with the lace and finding ways to play with its ethereal qualities of light and air, and the resulting shadows in the soft spring sunlight today made my dreams come true! She had her first outing today on display at the Amazing Lace Symposium and will go on display at Limerick City Museum and be available to loan to other lace museums in the coming months. It’s be an absolute joy working with the handwork of some incredibly talented women on this project and honouring the work of the generations of women before us.
