Thank you @john.d.freyer and all the incredible creative folks that joined me for the second edition of the Creative Coalition banner - I couldn’t do it without you! So much talent and strength in this space this weekend ✨👏
As always thank you to @mrssmithturt for sharing the incredible legacy of these banners with me 💛

We unveiled our recovery banner at @recoveryinpractice - a huge full circle moment not only marking my first group I facilitated through @ramsinrecovery , but also celebrating the incredible year I’ve had as @john.d.freyer assistant and as a resource for folks in recovery.
I’m beyond grateful for everyone who showed up and shared space, and especially to my incredible Creative Coalition members (@sucherrr@martystasis@laelahuddleston ) who made this banner with their blood, sweat, tears, glitter, cyanotype, more blood, and lots and lots of salvaged fabric.
Special thanks to @john.d.freyer and @mrssmithturt , who have had full faith and believed in me since a 12-hour flight in October, where I first said, “We should have a banner!”
This is just the beginning! #coalesce #ate #cooked #RIP_VCU
My first ever Healing Plate: a Benefit for @caritasva finally happened and the “what if we made a giant book?” idea made it out the Google Chat!
Endlessly grateful for this amazing team who supports my creativity and everyone who poured so much care into a night centered around this community I love so deeply. Seeing people explore stories of recovery right here in Richmond is something that will stick with me forever!
Ella Floyd uses her talents to bring attention to unrepresented communities and awareness to social issues. In her time as Photography and Film major she explore the affects of substance abuse in the Appalachia region. Shaping their thesis on the cultural, economic and systematic factors in substance disorder in the region. During that time she also worked at Rams in Recovery and the Fifty FIFTY program under John Freyer. More recently she’s now works for Communications Coordinator at CARITAS and as a board member of Richmond Inclusive Recovery City. Their most recent art series was released in 2025, titled Say When explores the complexity of romantic for women in their mind to late twenties. Ella Floyd is an explemary artist and advocate and we can’t wait to see her career continue to blossom.

Laughed until my stomach hurt this weekend at @comfortzonecamp 💙
These kids show up with so much honesty, courage, and the best sense of humor (67 is so last year btw). Being around them is the kind of reminder I didn’t know I needed.
If you’ve ever thought about volunteering or supporting this work - DO IT!! seriously. It is one of the most meaningful things i’ve ever been part of #dragonfliesforever
