Following God’s direction is like following a GPS map. Sometimes it warns you of road closures and cameras along your route, doesn’t tell you until it’s too late to turn in a specific direction, and other times it stops working completely. But one thing you can be sure of is God’s positioning system will never lead you to the wrong destination. 🌟
Behind many of Afrobeats’ biggest moments is work that happens quietly. Elizabeth Sobowale[ @elizabeth_sho ] has spent more than a decade shaping the careers, strategy, and global direction of some of the genre’s most influential artists, including Adekunle Gold, Mr Eazi, Pheelz, and Cuppy.
In this International Women’s Day conversation, she reflects on growing up in Sàgámù, building a career she never planned for, and the faith, discipline, and persistence that guide her work. She also speaks about the structural barriers women still face in the music industry and why advocacy and education remain central to everything she does.
POV Editor - Mercy Oluwanisola [ @oluwanishoola__ ] seats with Elizabeth to explore her journey #InRecognitionOfHerWork
In Recognition Of Her Work is our way of shinning the light of the woman who has contributed immensely to moving Afrobeats foward.
Happy International Women’s Day from all of us at LSTVWW

Thank you God 🙏🏾 lol I haven’t been able to find the words but I’m just grateful that everything I want is aligning. The last 2 years have been the most rewarding years of my life.
Thank you @estherthedev we practically did this together, you would stay up all night listening to my readings and listening to me rant about Africa, you didn’t even know what I was studying 🤣, you planned my papers with me. And @inexpungable for providing Eggcorn’s Lagos office for my midnight studies 🤣 and for helping me stay sane when I lost my thesis and spent days trying to retrieve it. And special shout out to @keziahmallam , @oluwagbeminiyi , @msajayi@tosin_ab , FK. 🤍 My angels.
Thank you to everyone I worked with during my studies for extending the grace to understand that I was doing this for me.
Thank you @godwintom@carlosplanetario@onemotolani@fozadoza@obiasika@mbaforafrica and everyone else for sharing your knowledge and helping me achieve a DISTINCTION awarded thesis. 🎉 and to @adekunlegold for being the cover star of my thesis 🤣
I’m working to publish it because I worked my ass off to write this and it deserves to be read!!!
I still can’t process everything God has helped me achieve in the last 2 years but I am grateful. 🙏🏾 Nothing is impossible with God. Cheers to all the fake birthdays I celebrated and all the flowers I received 🤣 🌸 🎂
