When you look back at the village who raised you, some people stick out. Dave was one of those people. My best friend’s dad, always happy to drive from Dugway to Fountain Green to play with us at my hometown general store and the park for the hometown holiday, Lamb Days. Taught me lots of songs & gave me shit when I didn’t show up with my fiddle. I always felt like a member of the family, still do. It was wonderful hearing the stories yesterday at his funeral and seeing how many people loved Dave, and were loved by Dave. I will cherish those memories of hanging out at the Hancock’s in Dugway, everyone singing and playing from all corners of the house, Goodnight Irene. Goodnight, Dave, I can still hear you singing.🫶🏻❤️

There are many people who already know, but for those who don’t: my father, Dave Hancock, died today from complications following a stroke.
Our family appreciates the support we have received from friends and family. My dad put a lot of love into the world, and it has been wonderful to see it returned. The tentative date for the funeral will be Friday, May 15th and will be held in Tooele. We will post more information when we have it. Please feel free to share this post if you know anyone who loved Dave and would want to know.
