The Main Character is beginning to take shape👀 We’ve been playing with different improvisational tasks the past two weeks to start creating and setting material✨
Sharings will be on May 9th and 10th in the Nordic House in the Faroe Islands - hope to see you then❤️

We’re excited to finally share some info about THE MAIN CHARACTER (HØVUÐSPERSÓNURIN)👀
The creative team consists of 7 dance artists from the Faroe Islands, Norway, Sweden, and Germany, who will be equally involved in the creative research and the development of choreographic material as well as deciding the course of the storyline of The Main Character.
In February we will meet in the Faroe Islands and start the initial creative research for The Main Character - a personified depiction of how we see ourselves as individuals and how we learn to navigate the world we live in. The work aims to research human and self-identity and the surrounding factors that have an effect on the development of our identity and how outside factors affect us.
The work will be centred around three major characters: The Main Character, The Hive Mind, and The Lightbulb. A protagonist, an antagonist, and an unknown higher power.

The Main Character is coming alive thanks to funding from Nordisk Kulturkontakt, Nordisk Kulturfond, The Faroese Ministry of Social Affairs and Culture, The Faroese Culture Fund, Atlantic Airways and Tórshavnar Municipality.

It was such a joy to share the stage together as we had our first work in progress sharing of “In Wonderland” at @blaagrotte last Friday.
Creating and performing together with my partner @elibackers is very precious.
In Wonderland aims to research the place where dreams and nightmares meet. Where we navigate our shared experiences and perception of reality.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this research so far, we could not have done it otherwise. @nagelhusschiaproductions and @dansenshusoslo gave us valuable studio time.
Thank you @karla.ciccerone for collaborating with us. These wonderful pictures are from our first day in the studio, where parts of it was done on crutches and a chair.
Special shout out to Elias Bäckebjörk for not only daring to go into a creation and performance so soon after surgery, but for also spending so many hours mixing music for the piece. Music I hope more people will have the joy of hearing.

FOR en fantastisk opplevelse det var å danse utendørs i skiferbruddet på Otta ved Pillarguritoppen i forestillingen @dancing_in_the_wild_
Fra å bli kjent med så fine, rause mennesker i gruppen av utøvere, til å kjenne solen steke på kroppen under dansen, og det å være vitne til sterke følelser fremkalt av forestillingen. Opplevelsen kan ikke beskrives med ord.
Jeg håper nå inderlig at forestillingen kan gjenoppstå neste sommer - så enda fler kan ta del av opplevelsen ✨
