POSSIBLE MAYBES is an installation that consists of hybrid sculptures combining animal, plant and technological elements. The artwork explores, among other things, the integration of technology in the body, highlighting the symbiotic relation and the mutual dependence of all species.

«Η αφετηρία του έργου εντοπίζεται στην παρατήρηση ενός πολυχρωμου κεραμικού αντικειμένου —ενός ιδιότυπου σκάφους— δημιουργημένου στο πλαίσιο των εργαστηρίων ψυχοκοινωνικής αποκατάστασης. Η λεπτομερής καταγραφή των χρωμάτων και των υλικών μου θύμισε τα Lukasa της φυλής Luba στο Κονγκό: αντικείμενα-φορείς μνήμης όπου η απτική επαφή με στοιχεία πάνω στο ξύλο μετατρέπεται σε αφήγηση ιστορίας και συλλογικής μυθολογίας.
Το Navigating the unseen αποτελεί μια μεταγραφή αυτής της συνάντησης σε ένα έργο-όχημα πλοήγησης και χαρτογράφησης. Ένα ξύλινο γλυπτό που συγκροτείται από μνημονικά σημεία και λειτουργεί ως ζωντανός χάρτης».

Artwork Statement Excerpt:
Stranger in a Strange Land draws inspiration from the biblical verse 2:21-22 and reflects our ongoing research in Pelion since 2023. Following the Daniel and Elias Storms, we collected driftwood washed ashore, transforming it with silver through techniques inspired by silversmithing and the Japanese practice of kintsugi. Through this process, we turn waste into jewelry, transforming traumatic remnants and making it precious. In this installation, writing intertwines with jewelry, and jewelry regains its playful essence, echoing the roots of human language in nature. As climate change accelerates, our land becomes inhospitable and we become strangers to it. Having as a starting point the concepts of trace and writing, this artwork serves as an invitation to reconnect and reconciliate with our natural surroundings.

About our space
ististist.project is a multidisciplinary artistic platform founded by @anna.stroulia and @eliastsolis in 2020 as a non-profit organisation. Our practice focuses on the interaction of art and education, investigating the correlation between artistic creation, research and knowledge. Our projects take the form of artistic events, collective artworks and educational workshops in cooperation with schools, institutions, collectives, art professionals and friends in Greece and abroad. The creation of new narratives that include different diversities, the interrelationships amongst different species of all living beings, the symbiosis of technological and traditional tools and the social dynamics in the Anthropocene era are some of our main research subjects.
Located in Exarcheia, our project space K85 is a showcase 24h / 24h visible to the public. We organize workshops and pop-up events and welcome solo shows from external practitioners and artistic collectives who can think of inventive ways to work with our vitrine.
