Decided to make fresh lil edit reel 🎥💻
feel like I’m still just getting started with this whole camera thing 😌
(I spent way too much time working on this lol)
I took this photo on the ferry to Seattle when I was back home in Washington during the holidays.
I slowed down the shutter and cranked the fstop because I was too slow to get my ND filter out. I wanted to capture the motion of people walking and capture the scene as everyone unloads from the boat and quickly disperses into the streets, and am pretty happy about how it turned out.
Taking the ferry is something that is honestly kind of nostalgic for me. I did it a lot as a kid for soccer games and whenever we wanted to cross over into the “big city,” and so I always find it sort of nostalgic. It’s a moment in time where we all get to slow down and look out over the water, build puzzles, play cards, and get snacks, as we take a breathe away from the regular business and pace of life.

I recently went with my mom and explored an old castle, built in 1890.
And to be honest, it wasn’t the most stimulating thing.
No Ai
No scrolling
No 67
But the longer I wandered and looked around, the more I slowly began to find things that seemed interesting to me.
In particular, the architecture and look of this staircase fascinated me.
(I just said architecture to sound sophisticated, I literally have zero concept of what it actually is)
Something about the lines, angles, and the downward spiral looking four floors down.
It looked interesting.
We live in a world of instant gratification.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t open instagram a couple of times while walking around this never ending really old house.
But there is something magical about life when we can get past our never ending craving for entertainment.
Get past the scrolling and back into the real world.
Maybe it’s just boredom.
Maybe it’s something else.
I honestly don’t know.
But I think it’s something worth exploring.
The humanness of curiosity.
I’m just as addicted to my phone as you are; probably more so even.
So this is a challenging journey for me for sure.
But maybe I need to take a step back and reflect a little bit on the bigger grasp of life during this turn of the new year.
Maybe I sound too philosophical or contemplative
Idk. I just needed to think of an instagram caption, and happened to think a little too deeply about life.
Maybe I’m romanticizing the idea too much
I guess I’ll have to wait and see
