It’s with a heavy heart that I share the news that my father, Phillip Adamson, passed away unexpectedly this past Monday, May 4th.
There’s simply too much to say. It’s natural for fathers to be proud of their children, but I was and always will be so proud of my father for who he was and everything he did to give our family a good life. He was my rock, and I’m heartbroken that I will have to face each day without him here in the flesh.
I love you so much Pop. I carry your spirit with me always, and I promise to honor you in all of my remaining days. May you rest in everlasting peace ♥️🕊️

Born on April 19th, 1960 to Earnest Adamson and Ruby Edwards and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Phillip immigrated to the United States in 1981, where he settled in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Phillip worked in the kitchen at the well-known Cambridge venue, The Western Front, where he was affectionately known as “Cheffy” and shared his love for food and reggae music with the community. He later worked as a supervisor for Conservation Services Group and happily retired in 2025. Phillip enjoyed cooking, painting, spending time with his family and was an avid soccer and Boston sports fan.
Phillip will be remembered as a calm and loving presence who made others feel welcomed with a truly kind and sincere spirit. Phillip was a recognizable figure everywhere he went, with a distinct beard and locs which remained uncut for over 40 years as he believed “God made all things perfect.” His quiet strength and love will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life to honor Phillip will be planned for a later date. Invitations will be sent out as soon as details are finalized.
Today is a fresh start. My goal is to see more people feel into their joy and authentic expression. Life is about creativity, not just in art, but in each moment we are creating ourselves, creating culture, and shaping the future.
Wishing you well.

I sat on the beach for a while and tried to think of the best lyrics to capture these moments. A few years ago, I never would have thought I would see a view like this.
