Excerpt from the curatorial text:
Upon entering the space, three large-scale works immediately assert themselves. Armour(1–3) operates as both shield and signal. The series examines the tension between authenticity and social performance. These works do not simply depict protection, they enact it. Through layered surfaces and embedded reflective steel, they mirror the viewer back into the work, implicating them in the same choreography of self-presentation.
The progression from Armour (1) to (2 and 3) marks a shift from observation to embodiment. Where the first work gestures toward the construction of façades, the latter pieces intensify this logic, integrating hyper-reflective stainless steel and extending into cage-like structures that project outward from the canvas. These frameworks echo the dimensions of the paintings themselves, enclosing them in rigid, industrial geometries. Protection here becomes constraint; adaptation edges toward self-erasure.

Lararium, 2026
200 X 130 X 25 (single block - ca. 25 X 25 X 20 CM),
rebar - 160 X 7 CM, Ø 3 CM;
Casted concrete blocks (28 pieces), steel rebar.
Excerpt from the curatorial text:
The final work, Lararium, anchors the exhibition with a quiet monumentality. Composed as a curtain casted entirely in concrete, it hangs from a rod made of metal rebar, materials
typically associated with structural permanence and exteriority. Installed against a wall with no window, the piece evokes a familiar domestic gesture while simultaneously denying its function. There is no outside to reveal, no light to filter through. Instead, the curtain becomes an object suspended between promise and obstruction.
Referencing the visual phenomena of concrete panel architecture, Lararium draws on the language of collective housing while reframing it as an intimate, interior element, a
“softscape” rendered in a material that refuses softness. This contradiction sits at the core of the work: the tension between the desire for comfort and the persistence of external hardness. It gestures toward a space that should offer refuge, yet remains impenetrable.

Upwind, Silver Wind stages a tension between opposing states: a steel flag appears to flutter, catching and reflecting light with a polished surface,
while its counterpart, a black, damaged fabric flag, hangs heavily, depleted and inert. Movement here is both asserted and denied.

Meet the artist: Kyryl Korin
Kyryl Korin is a visual artist born and raised in Khmelnytskyi, Western Ukraine. Currently he works in Basel, Switzerland. His practice is rooted in a solid academic foundation in painting and drawing, which over time has developed beyond the traditional two-dimensional media.
Today Kyryl's work is a blend between plane and spatial. He engages with painting, drawing, sculpture and installation, incorporating a diverse range of materials such as metal, wood, ceramics, leather, fabric, and other. Each selected for its physical properties, symbolism, history and narrative potential.
Kyryl's practice is focusing on contemporary culture and societal themes, such as: social hierarchies and dynamics, authenticity and performance, power structures and conditioned behavior etc. Through figuration and abstraction, symbolism and metaphor, he seeks to explore contemporary social realities and evoke dialogue.

This body of work explores harsh artificial light and direct flash. Drawing on an older digital aesthetic, these images embrace saturation, immediacy, and playful discovery. The flash both reveals and distorts, turning simple gestures into exaggerated, slightly humorous moments.

The black-and-white works are defined by natural light and reflections embedded within the architectural environment. Glass surfaces generate layered compositions in which bodies appear fragmented, partially concealed, and mediated by transparency, suggesting a space where visibility is never direct, but always filtered.
Within this field of shifting perception, the subjects frequently return the gaze. This creates a direct yet uneasy exchange, where looking is no longer one-directional, but charged with awareness and tension.
