well… I pressed the submit button... just have to wait a mere 12 weeks now to find out if they give me the money to do the work! #artscouncilengland

Please do come along to our open studio on April 25th as we lament the death of 100 fishes in Stourbridge Canal. We have free places in the fish making textile workshop with @elenathomas13 but they must be booked. Contact Helen to reserve a place. #fishes #toxins #openstudio
Lines on Lines…
#Lines.
• I read about other people’s roots and rootlessness in order to make sense of my own
• Can my present and future be constructed without foundations? Even the misty, ephemeral, hearsay foundations?
In March 2026 a section of Stourbridge Canal was closed due to a burst pipe which led to raw sewage flowing into the water. 100 fish were reported killed in the initial days following the leak due to oxygen depletion and elevated ammonia levels. Species found dead included Pike, Perch and Bream. We are saddened by this loss and the impact on the wider canal biodiversity. Over the coming weeks we will mark this toxicity incident through a textile fish making workshop, public dialogue and micro-film showings. Watch this space for open studio dates at Workshop 24, Ruskin Glass Centre... #fish #toxins #canal #stourbridge with @elenathomas13 and @willis_designs_shop
I love having visitors to my studio, especially those who take really good photos, and notice things in my space that I’ve got so used to I don’t see any more…
Thank you @clairerileyfineart for the conversation and questions and observations… ♥️♥️♥️
And thank you for sending me these fab photos!
