When we first discovered it, the barn was little more than a shell, with half a roof and plenty of cobwebs. We completely transformed the original structure and added a modern extension to create a beautiful home featuring three bedrooms, a family bathroom, and a dedicated laundry area.
Filled with some of our favourite brands, including Secto Design lighting and the Fritz Hansen Skagerak Cutter range, Cottles Barn showcases timeless craftsmanship and clean Scandinavian design. You’ll also spot a few Salcombe Trading classics, such as our cosy sheepskins, Hanko dining chairs, Scandi chairs, and the elegant Ashford writing desk. Link in bio

Take a look at this beautifully crafted contemporary garden studio, seamlessly integrated into this lush private back garden. The design features bold vertical black charred oak cladding on one side, contrasted with the warmth of natural wood on the other.
A large picture window reflects the surrounding greenery, enhancing the connection between indoors and out. A covered patio with sleek black chairs offers a tranquil spot to unwind.
Elegant details like the sculptural rain chain add both function and finesse. The surrounding garden is thoughtfully landscaped with ornamental grasses, a Japanese maple, and mature trees, creating a serene secluded retreat.
A perfect harmony of clean architectural lines and natural beauty.

A Barn Reimagined
Tucked away in the countryside south of Bath, a once forgotten barn has been brought beautifully back to life by Salcombe Trading Co. This striking conversion blends the character of rural architecture with contemporary interior design, creating a space that feels both rooted in history and refreshingly modern.
Inside, clean lines and natural materials meet soft textures and warm, neutral tones. Every detail has been carefully curated from bespoke furnishings to elegant fixtures creating a calm, cohesive atmosphere. Modern touches add a sense of sophistication, while the open-plan layout enhances the feeling of space and flow.
What truly sets this barn apart is the abundance of natural light. Expansive glazing and thoughtfully positioned windows flood the interiors with sunlight throughout the day, bringing the outside in and highlighting the beautiful mix of old and new.
This is more than just a renovation, it’s a celebration of craftsmanship, creativity, and the kind of timeless design that makes you feel at home the moment you step inside. Oh, and what about the staircase!

Designed, manufactured and installed by @elementsstudio.bath this bespoke low maintenance bin and log store sits on a sloping pathway. Manufactured from recycled plastic lumber, Tricoya MDF, Millboard composite cladding pressed Galvanised steel sheet the unit is a sleek, contemporary and maintenance free solution to replace rotten standard wooden bin stores.

This feature wall and bench seat was installed as part of a Music Studio project in Bath. Hidden within this wall layout are two double-door sets to storage rooms plus access to a shower and wc. The solid oak floating bench seat was installed in to the angled niche, with accent lighting and unlacquered brass detailing along with bespoke made brass pull handles.

Completed in partnership with @WraxallBuilders this staircase was conceptually designed by NashPartnership in close collaboration with the project client. Elements Studio then developed this design into a deliverable product, which we manufactured and installed on site.
